Shotguns vs Jedi
What about this one, thier lightsabre can't be in more than one place at the same time as several pellets would hit them at the same time.

Go to a local machine shop. Bring a box. Load it up with enough metal to make a battle-droid torso with chest armour at least 2" thick. Grab a couple of electrical motors and batteries and put them in the box too. Grab some thick-walled steel tubing, enough for legs and arms. Now, try to lift the box.
The ability to easily throw battledroids around like rag dolls is easily enough to stop a shotgun blast. But then again, a Jedi would be just as likely to leap into the air at precisely the right time, thus avoiding the blast and landing behind the attacker.

Problem is that it is often stated that while a jedi can easily move large objects, the fine control needed for small objects is difficult to develop and usually only found in Jedi Masters and powerful knights.Darth Wong wrote:Go to a local machine shop. Easier solution is just create a force wall and bleed off the KE.

I think the only way to get a jedi with modern weapons , is explosives, like hand grenades,

Jedi can be overwhelmed by large numbers. You could probably kill them with explosives, or by surprise, but poisons seem to be largely ineffective.

Largely due to the fact that Jedi can purge the poison from their systems as soon as it enters. If the Jedi is already weakened, though, poison can be deadly.Master of Ossus wrote:Jedi can be overwhelmed by large numbers. They obviously didn't see themselves fighting all the battledroids. starwars.com (yeah yeah, I know) says they weren't prepared to fight the droids, just the Geonosians. So they obviously can be led into traps. And Jedi do die.KhyronTheBackstabber wrote:Master of Ossus wrote:How do you surprise someone who can see things befor they happen? You could probably kill them with explosives, or by surprise,
I think Lucas has been setting up for us that Jedi are simply normal people with some extraordinary skills. I mean, QUi-Gon says in TPM that Jedi can die. We see a buttlaod die in AotC. They aren't superheroes. GL said hismelf he modeled them after Marchalls of the Old West, along with Samurai. Those kinds of people, whiel good, were still only human. And still died.
Which is the way I always thoguht. I saw a pic once of a Jedi surrounded by like 4 stormtroopers, and I thought "Shit, he's in trouble". Then I find the internet, and see people touting "Jedi vs. 20000 people".

Actually I think its implied that they throw a "wall" of telekenesis that deflects anything in its path away. This is indicated by how repetatively, Obi-Wan shrugs away multiple droids simultaneously, and my ability to telekenetically throw away rockets in Jedi Outcast.Ender wrote:Problem is that it is often stated that while a jedi can easily move large objects, the fine control needed for small objects is difficult to develop and usually only found in Jedi Masters and powerful knights.Darth Wong wrote:Go to a local machine shop. The ability to easily throw battledroids around like rag dolls is easily enough to stop a shotgun blast. But then again, a Jedi would be just as likely to leap into the air at precisely the right time, thus avoiding the blast and landing behind the attacker.

Sure it takes fine control to pick up three pens in different places in a room and make them follow each other in a pattern in mid-air, but that's different.

In one of the deleted scenes Mace says something about being outnumbered it was something like "I don't think so, every Jedi has to be worth alteast a 100 geonosians"

The Jedi are still superpowered and incredibly skilled people. However, they seemed to have developed a superiority complex and their hubris will get them killed. Such as how many did die in AOTC.
On the other hand, a "special" warrior type that is more akin to the normal people, just with special skills category, would be the Rangers from B5. They are completely normal, except they are probably better at hand to hand, and probably have better ships than many others. They, however, do not stand up to Jedi in battle.

HDS, I may be wrong, but I think that was in response to Dooku telling Mace he was surrounded and outnumbered and he says something along the lines of "I don't think so. Geonosians aren't warriors. A Jedi must be worth at least 100 Geonosians." Or something like that. It wasn't during/after the droid attack on the Jedi in the arena. His Divine Shadow wrote:I think you're dragging down a good bit to far here.In one of the deleted scenes Mace says something about being outnumbered it was something like "I don't think so, every Jedi has to be worth alteast a 100 geonosians"
