From what I could gather from the link, the Gunbuster aliens (do they even have a name?) are essentially Vong with (presumably) more numbers. Of course, there is nothing to indicate the stregth of their starships or weapons systems, so the similarity may only be superficial. There really isn't enough there to go by.

I'll take a stab at it. The Gunbuster and it's mass production Sizzler offshoots are the biggest, baddest giant robots ever. Able to withstand the pressure of a gas giant, wipe out 300,00+ drones in one fell swoop of the "BUST-O BEAM!", and survive being impaled by a carrier-class alien warship.

Quite essentially kick-ass in a can.

Evidentially they were enough of a threat to humanity that they compressed Jupiter's mass (I'm not sure if that's literal or just a measurement) into a gigantic bomb and detonated it to destroy most of the galaxy (the end picture has a ring of stars around a black void).

I also remember their fighter-mecha type thing was rated as having the same energy production from its reactor as a good sized star or thereabouts.

I know that the main Bug fleets contain billions of ships, sometimes i think tens of billions.

The human mecha had energy output equal to a star almost, someone did soem estimates, in another thread, and said that if 40 of these robots directed their weapons output at a planet for iirc an hour it would vaporize the planet rather spectacularly. The humans had thousands, i think tens of thousands, of these mechs.

Compared to that, the Bugs were still winning to the point where the doomsday Buster Bomb was the only recourse.

Thats all i really know or remember, hopefully its useful.

The point of my post was that without any sort of actual data beyond what that link provided, they were just another conglomeration of space creatures.
Although, IIRC, some of the NJO books do note combat speeds at a significant fraction of c.

While we may be spamming GhostRider, Ali-sama is breaking rule number 1. And a review of his posts shows that he never follows proper punctuation, capitalization or grammar, and some of us, like Spanky and myself, are getting really fucking sick of it. I don't like playing mod, but when a member so blatantly flaunts violation and then those who remind him of said violation get warned about spamming, something looks wrong.
