I think that "no laser" idea is stupid.

One shuttle taking hits from the Death Star. Before I got into STvsSW versus debating I didn't even believe that...hell I didn't even think a borg cube could withstand the blast from the Death Star.Asst. Asst. Lt. Cmdr. Smi wrote:I think that "no laser" idea is stupid.

I don't have any problems with the "No Laser" argument - I have problems with the sad fact that most subscribers to the "No Laser" argument ignore the fact that the Empire just can use its ion cannons to disable whatever would pose a barrier for the laser cannons.

"in Outragious Okana, they saw the Enterprise's Navigation shields would stop lasers, Federations ships are impervious to any weapon with the work "laser" in the main yet Picard raises full shields when faced with X-Ray lasers. this all being based on the dialogue on one ST TNG episode and one of the poorer ones at that

We have the coolest looking designs while your SW ships looked like someone invented them in the 1920s thus we are more advanced.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

MKNM, "Chuck proved that the speed of light is different by using imaginary numbers or some such tripe", using "quantum physics" to "disprove" the definition of an alloy while using a list of ceramic MP's at one atmosphere to make proof statements about alloys in a vacuum... I think that'll do for now.

Yup another one....it is truly illogical how a planet killing laser can be adapted when the borg can't even adapt to SF weak weapons...ex..-STFCCrazy_Vasey wrote:That's mine as well urgh.Darth Yoshi wrote:Borg can adapt to superlasers.

P.S.- How stupid can they go.

Heard this one off of SB.com:
Promtp: "In a fight between the Enterprise D and a Star Destroyer near Pluto, who would win?"
Trekkie: "Easy. The enterprise d could just tractor beam the planet and use it to hit the star destroyer. Since asteroids can easily defeat star wars shields (as proven when asteroids destroyed Tie fighters in 1 shot), pluto should be more than enough to take out even the most powerful star wars stuff.
ROTFLMAO!
The kicker is that Pluto's not a planet.

I thought it was, with Triton being either a moon, or a twin.

Charon, not Triton. And it has recently been decided that they are really twin "planets." IIRC the current theory is that they are just deep-space debris that fell into a distant orbit (or is it renegade moons?) around the sun, and therefore not proper planets at all.Darth Yoshi wrote:I thought it was, with Triton being either a moon, or a twin.

I thought it was decided that NEITHER was a planet, and that they were just another piece of space debris (really big ones, but still...).
