"Of course, what would really happen is that in Game 7, with the Red Sox winning 20-0 in the 9th inning, with two outs and two strikes on the last Cubs batter, a previously unseen meteor would strike the earth, instantly and forever wiping out all life on the planet, and forever denying the Red Sox a World Series victory..."

SD.net is actualy higher then that. Mike regularly trims the database and uploads it on a mirrored board for search purposes so as to keep the main board faster.

Hmm, it seems they just read the total post counts and the main board is up to date on that. So SD.net is in its proper ranking.

In terms of total posts, Gaia Online is #1

Now as for whose #1 in the other categories (SDN ranking is in brackets):

Damn, SD.net and SB.com are neck and neck on weekly activity.

SB.com ranks as 401 on posts per week with 9,928 posts.

SD.net ranks as 402 with 9,895 posts per week.

SD.net is 16 on member to post ratio, 608 posts per member.

SB.com is 51 with 297 posts per member.

SD.net is higher on that ratio because Mike keeps pruning old un-used accounts. Something Kier refuses to do at SB.com.

SB.com has been recording its post counts for almost 6 years, and I don't think anyone has even reached Mike's post count level. I've been on SB.com for almost 5 years and only have a little above 24,000 posts, and I'm in the top five on post counts.

Damn Mike, thats impressive.

Well........ we can always reintroduce old Sylvar here. She has to be the fastet member to break 1,000 posts.

At least some of the posters on ArsTechnca's OpenForum have insinuated that some boards inflate their rankings when Big Board's bot checks their site.

Sdnet used to be number 3 in post/members ratio long ago. We need another purge, it seems.

The fastest here would probably be someone like Ein or verilon. I swear verilon had to be averaging at least 80-100 posts a day during his first few months.

Well for some Stupid reason I want to become a Jedi master ON My Birthday, thing is I'm trying not to make Spammy Posts although I wonder if this one slips under the radar as acceptable or is this just spam?

and yes I actually want to make that 1000th Post on December the 22nd not a second before in fact I may just have to find a thread a 11.30 and wait till Midnight for my 1000th post just to do it properly)

It is most unfortunate that there is no way of easily measuring the spam to meaningfull posts ratio of a forum. Based on a cursory clance at least Gaia Online, the number 1 on that list, is chock full of spam.

Out of 2168 registered users right now:
320 have no posts at all.

277 have over 1000 posts.
24 have over 10000 posts.
Mike has the most at 27646 posts.

I wonder what the distribution looks like on some of the other boards?
At some forums I've seen, over half of all registered members had no posts, but to be fair, we'd probably have a similar ratio if inactive members weren't purged on a semi-regular basis.
