Nope.

How unfair are those people with double-jointed thumbs in thumb wrestling? I hate playing against these people. I can beat almost anyone in thumb wrestling, except for those double-jointed bastards.

I can touch the top of my wrists with the nails of my thumbs (oddly, the left one more easily) by bending them back. I'm not sure if that's a true double joint or just flexibility.

I can make the third part of my middle finger(the tip or "finger tip" area) bend at an almost 90 degree angle with the rest of the finger completely straight.

Both of my thumbs are double-jointed (I can't bend them back to my wrist, but I can make the the joints pop out towards my palm, which really grosses some people out). My fingers are partly double-jointed at the base: they can all go 90 degrees without issue.
My elbows are slightly double-jointed, but can only bend them backwards a few degrees. It's off-putting to people who notice, though.

Sadly, I'm not. I still remember during elementary school, when my double-jointed classmate used to scare girls by twisting all his fingers backward in front of them. I was so jealous of him!

Other than that, no.

When I was in grade school. My right elbow used to be able to bend more than 20 degrees in the "wrong" direction. It can still do more than 10.

I'm single jointed, but I've got three very good ones in my right index finger which will lock the next one of these threads that starts. Just a friendly notice to everyone.

I'm not double jointed in the conventional sense and in many ways (common to long distance runners) I'm spectacularly inflexible, unable to touch my toes without serious knee bending.

But...

In a couple of places that are tremendously helpful for a runner, I'm very flexible indeed. I can bend my knees until my thighs are higher than my quadraceps (applying outside pressure, I can't just lift my leg into that position) and my ankles are nigh-invulnurable. On more than one occasion I've run down stairs and fucked up such that I slipped and twisted my foot all the way backwards such that, for a fraction of a second, standing on the top of my foot instead of the bottom. Instead of horrible death (or season ending injury), these events simply caused a couple hours of modest discomfort.

Both elbows, left thumb (broke the right one, but it was double jointed until then), shoulders, hips, and ankles.

Useful, but problematic.

My shoulders are a lot more flexible than they should be. They can literally come out of their sockets easily.

Some old school ASVSers might remember Mike O'Shea, I remember I was fighting him once at a "sparring" club we had down here at UTAS.

Anyhow - the fucker is doublejointed in nearly every joint in his fucking body (I'm talking 15-20 degrees of movement in all the wrong directions in his elbows and about 5-15 degrees in the knees - not to mention the shoulders, wrists, fingers...). So there I am struggling to put a fucking submission hold on the bastard...

Double-jointedness = pain in the arse.

As for myself, I'm not double-jointed at all.

I don't have that much on the knees, but I have about that on my elbows, with enough strength to back it up and make it useful. (Working out at a gym is good...) My shoulders and hips come out of the sockets (double jointed as I mentioned), and yeah, it makes me a bitch to hold, it's fun.

Look at it this way, double joints in major joints *will* result in early arthritis because the joint structures of the body just are not designed for it and wear out. You will be moving fine in like 30 years, those of us with double joints will be popping pills to be able to get to the fridge in 30.

All I can do is turn my arms around 360 degrees, so it looks normal except my elbows bend up or inside. Fun for scaring people.

I've found being double-jointed to be more of a problem than a blessing, actually. The thing with my elbows was great for impressing guys and scaring girls in grade-school, but the fact that my elbows have trouble locking straight out is a major pain, sometimes. I damn near ripped the skin off of my arm when I was first learning archery, for example (even the full arm-length bracers didn't cover enough, so I had to train myself to shoot without extending my elbow), and it majorly sucked to be tackled in football by one of the few guys with shorter arms than me while I was stiff-arming him. Plus it's a lot easier to damage a double-jointed joint than a more normal one, since the thing isn't built to handle stresses going in that direction.

My fingers are double jointed in the sense that they can do that s-curve looking thing. My shoulders too. I can wrap either arm all the way around my head and grab my ear, do the thing with the inside of my elbows, and pop them in and out of joint. Plus, I have some extra play in other places, like my spine and waist. (I can bend over double with my hands in fists and touch the ground just in front of my toes with the knuckles--without bending knees, of course).
