Crow mythos FAQ

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

1. The primary reason is an unresolvable anguish/tormenting Tragedy, they create too much disturbance, and can't pass on to their final destination.

2. Spirit Guides: Primary spirt guide shown in the Comics/Movies/TV is the crow. The TV also shows the evil Crows known as "Snakes". The Comic book showed that all of the classic Psychocamps (messengers between death and life) could talk and serve a Revnant. Including: Cats, Dogs, Jackels, etc. While in the Movie/TV the animal is the source of the Revnant's power, in the Comic book it's just a messanger.

3. Powers: Invulnerability: 3 three sources show that the crows can be temporarily harmed, but almost isntantly heal back into a normal undead state. All premortem damage still shows cosmetically as does some post mortem damage (namely scars from y insciions, having eyes removed, Eric's missing eye.) The loss of power is generally based on a crow stepping away from their mission of vengence, or loosing their focus. In the Movie damage to the spirit animal can also result in loss of power.

Psychic Connection: The Revnant/Crow can mentally link to any spirit animal type. Not just the crow. using that animal's senses. Eric commanded an army of cats and dogs at one point in the Comic.

Flight: Rarely seen, some times while becoming one with the crow avatar, the Crow has been seen to "Fly" (The Native american Crow used this serveral times, Eric used this trick once)

Senses remain despite damage/all around senses" weather this is the abilit of psychic linking, or not, the crows are aware of all that goes on around them, even through doors/walls. Also Eric did not suffer any loss of depth perception despite missing an eye, and the Chinese Cop Crow had lost both of his eyes when he was torchered to death after he witnessed his wife's rape and murder, and his two daughters being sold to a kiddie porn ring.

Inhuman Strength: Crow strength is about equal to a human in full adrenal frenzy. Or on par with classic Lit vampires

Healing: Strangely in all versions Eric is the only one who has demonstrated this power, when he used it on the Junky mother, and to heal a cat that had been hurt by T-Bird.

Telepathy/opject reading: All crows can read people's minds, and read images off objects. Some of them can use this as an attack.

That's all I can remember for now

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Giving the cat to the Detective as a going away present and telling the detective exactly how long he had before the kittens arrived was a funny bit too.

Is this a comic book? A movie? Both? More?

What's it called? Like, what's the name of the comic book/movie/etc?

This is also known as Thread Necromancy, since the last post was in April 2004.
9. Do not post in an old, inactive thread unless you have something genuinely new and interesting to add to it. This is known as thread necromancy.
Of course, since this is a thread about people who come back from the dead in search of vengence, should be be surprised at necromancy?

However since this is an FAQ about the people who come back the Wiki article was a nice addition. I have spoken to O'Barr at cons in the past and he's a very nice person even if he doesn't like his creation.

Of course, if I'd bothered to notice the original posting date before I tossed in the Wiki link, I wouldn't have added that at all. Oh well, hindsight and all that. :?
