They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

  • Homeworld 2
  • A CD case for my car made with "space-age" technology that won't break...or so I'm told.
  • A new watch
  • Star Wars OT DVDs
  • GTA: Vice City (my collection is complete!) :D
  • Some clothes/running shoes later on during all the Christmas sales (well, ok, that was supposed to be today but I slept through most of it for the reason below)
I also got a gum infection thingy that hurt like a bitch all Christmas Day. I couldn't even eat without serious pain. :(

Luckily it seems to have considerably abated now, but I still get a dentist trip tomorrow.

Let's see:

The Simpsons Season 5 on DVD
A Century of Flight on DVD
The Encyclopedia of Cajun and Creole Cuisine, signed by Chef John Folse
Personalized shot glass commemorating winging
Some weird magnetic play thing
Christmas ornament with Alma Mater on it
Group nude photo from SOS

I think that about covers it.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

Heh, I got my mother the first season. There was happiness all around.

As for me, well, I'd banked a table and a couch in November, so that covered my mother. Moving sucks, yaknow? Got some basic household stuff, plus a toaster oven, t hen my dad got me a TV and a DVD player today, which was really nice. Not much of anything in terms of 'fun' stuff, but I did get a bunch of things my new place needed.

One pair of Mossimo khakis
One wool-lined, button-up sweatshirt
Two Michael Crichton paperbacks, The Sphere and Jurassic Park
A Nyko AirFlo PC gamepad, to replace my broken XBox controller with a USB connector grafted onto the end of the cord
A copy of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Teh awesomeness, it is too much!)
$50 US in cash
And, when my grandma gets back from Virginia, possibly a shiny new Nomad MuVo TX FM 256MB to replace my rather beat-up Nomad MuVo 128MB

*joseph looks up wide eyed from the manger. He scoops baby Jesus up and drops back into shotgun position, Mary, the Wisemen and the Shepherds forming the offensive line against the oncoming rush.

Joe pump fakes to Raphael, but Lucifer has him covered like Hell on sinners. He sees Tasoth down in the endzone. He drops back, aims upward and lets the little messiah fly*

Mark: Wow John, what a pass. It looks like it could be another Immaculate Reception.

John: Mhmm Mark. Lets hope that kids has hands since God has Jesus covered.

*Tasoth cuts left, his eyes focused on the spiralling swaddle of divine salvation. Out of no where, Judas comes to cover him, the former defensive end for Team Christmas. They jump, a tangle of hands in the air, Baby Jesus coming down*

John:OH MY GOD! IT'S GOOD!!

Mark: Team Christmas wins! THE ROOKIE CAUGHT IT!!

*Gets to his feet and raises his arms, still holding baby Jesus, into the air and lets out a victory yell.

Backflips

Spikes baby Jesus as Team Christmas celebratory mauls him*

Say what you want about Jesus, but Joseph was a Steeler's fan.

I LOVE pants that are too large. Kernel sent me a pair of his sweats that are like a men's extra large. They rock my socks.
