Should we form an Imperial Strike Force?

I believe that we should, at first, begin with a series of lightning strikes that involve most or all of our forces concentrating on a few threads. We will then tell them that we are from SD.net (or, hint to them as such). Their champions will emerge from the holes and attack us here, where they will be crushed by our logical arguments and our unwillingness to descend into a pit of spamming. With some or all of their champions defeated, we will be able to move through their boards with greater impunity, and will begin being able to launch offensives with fewer and fewer people per thread. By the time the whole thing is over, one or two SD.net personnel will be able to hold out on S31 unless a concerted effort to dislodge them is mounted. If and when this happens, these people will call for reinforcements, at which time the rest of us will move as quickly as we can to smash their debates.

Invading S31 would be similar to invading the Eye of Terror, our logic will be overwhelmed by chaos.

But still its a good idea to crush the fools.

section31 is insignificant.

trekbbs.com is much bigger and much more active. all you need to do is post a "star wars vs star trek" thread and watch the "lasers can't fed ships" arguments flood in.

From what I hear, I think we should go against section 31.com first.

My reasoning is that it would be better for us to go against an easier foe considering this is our first campaign. Once we've gotten into the swing of things, we can turn our direction towards the cesspool of trekbbs.

I totally agree. S31.com is the better of the two targets for us to go after first because it is a haven for Trekkies to live without fear of Imperial attacks. We could catch them by surprise and destroy them. Once we have any converts with us that we can get at S31, then we can gather our allies and go do the same thing at SB. S31 first, then SB. We will also use S31.com to develop our tactics and our mass debating skills so that we may be finally vindicated at SB.com

What should our tactics be, though? Should we launch a massive attack (as I want to) on a few threads, or should we prepare to be swarmed and go after several threads at once? I still think we should launch a series of major offensives beginning with a few threads and then slowly expanding to cover much of their BBS.

NO ONE HAS ANSWERED MY QUESTION YET! Should we go in and destroy them in large groups, thread by thread, or should we attack them individually on multiple threads at the same time. I think we should attack them one thread at a time, with a large group of us, to prevent them from swarming.

I think we should concentrate our efforts on one thread, that way they can't accuse us of spamming. But I do agree that we shouldn't concentrate our forces too densely. We should fan out a bit. we should go in in pairs and that pair would pick a trekkie pair to face off against. While the other pairs seek their own trekkie counterparts and go hunting. I find that this works well when you're hopelessly outnumbered.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, but invading space battles would be a waste of time. The trekkies over there are laughed at so often its not even funny....well maybe it is, but we're still a majority Warsie board with little tolerance for idiot trekkies. The few we have are just so damned vocal... and Mike has already dealt with them

Find one of the big protrek debators. Destroy him. That should piss enough people off the try to pull that shit around here.

I agree with our strategy of bringing their champions here, but crushing the majority of them a few threads at a time on their own boards. That way they don't have the ability to clog our boards, AND they are crushed.

I think we should procede the way Doomgiver proposed:
Force them to accept canon facts (such as superior FTL capabilities) and afterwards attack other threads. That way, we'll be able not only to smash them, but to subjugate them permanently.

Thread-by-thread is a proven method in dealing with moron Trekkies such as seen on SB and S31. Otherwise, you end up arguing that "hyperspace is faster" or "turbolasers are stronger" a thousand times over in every single thread. I am speaking from experience here, it is better to do it the correct way and give yourself the tools for victory, as opposed to getting into what will only be a screaming, pissing match against superior numbers. And when you argue with an idiot like that, they can only bring you down to their level and win. Your best bet is to show them the light in individual, specially-constructed threads. Threads offer you control of the thread and control of the information being presenting. I just hope you all have enough experience in dealing with inane Trekkie arguments to be able to shoot them down topic by topic. It is one to crush an ignorant Trekkie stupid enough to post on Wong's board, it is another thing to take on 1000 rabid Trekkies that can respond 31 times to every one of your posts. In that situation, you must concentrate Wars-side posts in a single thread to rapidly disassemble the Trek rebuttals and win the thread.

Look at Darkstar.

He brings up arguments that have been defeated by ASVS and Darth Wong time and time again. But here on this new board, we have to disprove the lunacy once-again.

Now imagine 1000 Darkstars. This is what you can find on boards like SB and S31. What can you do? You can prove the basic points again, as outlined by the topics on Darth Wong's technology pages. Then, when you are arguing about, for example, ISD vs entire Federation, and you want to show how hyperdrive gives vastly superior strategic mobility, you can reference the hyperdrive thread using the URL. That way, you are building a library of won-arguments, a sort of pyramid with victory on the top. It worked in SB, but faded away when we left. But a stronger Wars-side resistance developed in that time, and pressured the Trekkies hard. When the AOTC: ICS came out, it finished the Trekkies there for good. But that is because they had been prepared for it with years of multi-gigaton turbolaser calcs. S31 hasn't. You may have to start from the beginning [mainly canon fact] and work towards the ICS.
