Gunbuster Vs Star wars

I apologize for the many typos i have done in the past.
I am working to resolve the problem, with the help of a doctor.
My typos can get bad when the medication starts to wear off, so I need to be diligent about that.
Another issue is that my mind works much faster then fingers can type, therefore I need to slow down.
I also have to stop assuming that everyone sees what i do or knows what i do,

now on to the actual topic.

For those who have not seen Gunbuster here is the basic low down of the the series.
Gunbuster was one of the first ova(original video animation) by a new company called Gianax. They later went on to produce FLCL and Evangelion etc.
Gunbuster is a melodramatic science fiction which parodies an earlier anime/manga called “aim for the ace”. Gunbuster is hailed as the best ova ever produced and quite possibly the best scifi ever produced out of japan.
The cartoon does have segment which do explain the science behind many of the technologies and other things within the series.

The series starts out in the early part of the 21 century.
Humanity having discovered ftl(faster then light) through a revolutionary drive.
This drive utilized two artificially created singularities which encompasses the ship within their gravitational field and force the ship into warp(the ftl resembles more so the Babylon 5 version of hyperspace). An interesting note is that they need to be in calm space in order to go to warp.

The main character's father's ship encounters an alien race while on an exploration mission. This race proceeds to wipe out his fleet, of which only a few survive to go back to earth.

Now the alien race appears to be parasitic in nature as it infests stars in order to reproduce.
It's prime hosts are relatively young stars. Though their incubation time is unknown we are given some what of a idea. The captain of the main earth fleet ship comments on how during his cadet days he had visited a young star, very much like our own. His fleet, upon warping into the system discovered that the yellow star had become a red giant. The reason for this was quickly discovered as an alien pod came out of the star spewing millions upon millions of new creatures,

The creatures are an enigma as not much is told about them. They nest within stars and are very aggressive in nature.
Their tactics appear to be of a swarming nature, and if memory serves me correctly, they can latch on space ships and start to drain it;s shields.
They tend to fight at high velocities which approach c with ease and can maneuver at those speeds,
They do use ramming as a means of attack. They have been known to use this ramming to perform kamikaze attacks, Bio ships will puncture the hull of a ship then self destruct etc.
The small craft, or their equivalent of fighters, tend to use melee attacks.
The big ships have plasma cannons and other such weaponry which from what i remember can do a good amount of damage. I have to re watch it to see if they blow up any natural objects.

If the aliens can infect a star or two. They can effectively spread like a plague. Their numbers can be in the trillions within a few gestation periods. The only method to stop them from multiplying or escalating in numbers would be a sun crusher, Though employing such a method would render many systems uninhabitable and cause a lot of other problems. It would be a damned if you do damned if you don't. Plus a sun crusher would wipe out the system. So they would need to do an evacuation of the system otherwise they will effectively wipe out their own populations.

I believe so. The gunbuster defiantly has one as we see it being deployed. The starship, If I am not mistaken, have hull conforming shields instead of a bubble(trek like) shield. The ships can go significant factors of c. If unshielded. They would be full of holes within minutes.

Seriously this is essentially conducting a versus by going "The Thran Empire had machines that could produce energy for the entire Solar System, their armies numbers in the quadrillions, and they fight at really fast speeds."

Give us something or this goes locking because we can't tell if they are flying ships of aluminum or super steel.

I have to finish some pages soon as my break is coming to an end. Fortunately I do have the entire series on dvd and can do screen captures and other resourcing
