Compared to the more used, worn out idiots such as yourself?
Well, each to his own I guess, but onto what I was going to say (that doesn't involve flaming you):
Mr Bean wrote:And thus my point the movies did not look good, infact they looked bad
At this point normaly I'll start egreation how bad they are using such fun words as *Craptastical or whatnot but they where not that bad
Just bad
Ok, that's fantastic. We're all so very, very happy for you. You don't like the movie. No one said you had to, they just said you had to dislike it for real reason (tehnical accuracy NOT being one of them).
Mr Bean wrote:Poor Music, Scalling changing from frame to frame, Less plot than the avarage MST3K movie and the randomness of it,
Ok, a few things here.
The Music: I can agree, I've never been a fan of Mile's music in his movies.
Scaling: Never really paid too much attention to it, but as I said before I'll take your word for it.
Plot: This is the hang up. The area of contention. You say it had a terrible/non-existant plot. I say the same thing. However you say that makes it a bad movie, I do not.
Why?
Simple - It was never meant to have an Oscar worthy plot. It was just ships and explosions and all sorts of things like that. Nothing deep.
If you want deep, that's fine, but don't criticise a film because you wanted to get something deep when it clearly was never intended to be so.
Mr Bean wrote:I keep repeating myself hoping maybe, Just Maybe this time you'll get the point
Do I hope in vain

Do you wait in vain? Not really, no. However I hope that you'll understand my point.
The first thing you went after is technical inaccuracy. It was the first thing you shot at. That and the "wank fest" comment that got us angry. I'm a die-hard Warsie, come a VS debate I'll be right there beside you. But I'm a Spacebattler too, one of
the First Ones. The guys who joined because we liked 3D animation and explosions and mindless fun.
VS Debates (unlike so many ASVS denizens seem to think) are not the main issue, or wasn't the main issue, at Spacebattles. It was the movies and ideas for the next movie and whatever.
As a result, the movies have nothing to do with technical debates, and for that I'm thankful. Sure, all Warsie's would love to see a single Carrack Cruiser rampaging through a Federation Task force, but it'd be boring in the end. Not entertaining (at least not after the first run through).
So, however many years ago, when Thelea from ASVS came in demanding a "disclaimer" and all SB movies to say that "this is not how it really is" we told her to, quire frankly, get fucked. We didn't care that they were accurate or weren't accurate, we just wanted minless fun and explosions.
So from that point forward, whenever we get someone (be they Warsie, Trekkie, 5'ver, Wingnut, Freespacer, 40Ker, WHATEVER) piping up going "Oh! How innacurate! It's just some ego-rubbing movie for the Warsies (or whatever)" we get annoyed.
We honestly don't care if you don't like the film (there are a few of Johan's, ie. The Creator of Spacebattles that I don't like), as long as your reasons for not liking them are valid and not "VS Debate" centred.
If someone hates the movie because a few Torpedos destroyed a Sharlin Cruiser, then that person is an idiot.
If someone hates the movie because when the Sharlin exploded, you could see the frames where the Sharlin was there and then it suddenly wasn't, then that's fine. That's
VALID CRITICISM. It may not be constructive ("Hey I could see the Sharlin during the explosion! j00 suX0rs!" rather than "With the Sharlin you should try fading it during the explosion animation...") but it's
valid.
Now retract the "Trekkie Wank Fest" comment and we'll continue.
