Besides, he is the One. It just doesn't mean as much as everyone thought.

I haven't seen the movie yet (am going to see it on IMAX), but I think the false idol is supposed to be Zion as a place and an existence to die for.

Or if it is Neo, then I suppose it's this whole Neo is the all-enlightened "One" so why is he having dirty sex? He's no more enlightened than the rest of the numbskulls in that Zion pit.

Am I the only one who really thought the rave scene was bizarre as hell?

I'm watching them tromp around in the mud, and I'm thinking, Yes, these are primates all right. It just contrasted so jaggedly with the whole 'ubertech' they live with. It's like finding out that all CANDU engineers go home at night to a thatch hut and hunt squirrels with their teeth.

I think it was meant for the contrast. You see them living with machines in a high tech environment, and then you see them as people in as low tech environment as possible.
