The sex scene and nightclub scenes were fucking pointless, inane and generally stupid fan-service that slowed down the movie immeasurably.

That was supposed to be fan service? The rave scene was pointless and the sex scene didn't show jack, well except for Neo's butt.

And as for myself, I'm grateful they didn't show much of Carrie-Anne Moss naked, as I find her gratingly unattractive.

I really disagree, this scene was one of the MOST important scenes in the movie, I basically knew the end of the movie after the rave scene. How much more obvious can symbolism get with out walking you through it???

I was just waiting for Charlton Heston to come down off the mountain all pissed off.

Granted they could have cut down the scene, but to eliminate it would have taken alot away from the movie.

I want to see Agent Smith slam Neo through a wall and Neo coughs out blood and breaks an arm, then Smith stomps him (like how the other Agent leap onto the car and smash it) and renders Neo mortally wounded.

How does that equal a false idol? Not everybody even believes that Neo is the One. And they are hardly worshipping him, at least not everybody is.

Besides, he is the One. It just doesn't mean as much as everyone thought.

I found the sex/rave sequence to be interesting , and as far as Hollywood sex scenes go it was tasteful and well done. Neo and Trinity share a deep passion for each other, but the demands of their lives and Neo's 'destiny' make it difficult to express that love and longing as often as they would want to. Given an opportunity to get away from the press of humanity that is Zion, they take it and make the most of it.

Also was it just me or does Zion look suspiciously like a machine 'power tower' in reverse.......

Anyway, I liked it, and felt it added to the story, there is more to "The Matrix" Trilogy than guns, swords asskicking and chicks in tight latex, tough Persephone had me hard for every scene she was in, mm, mmm, good.

Persephone's line "She didn't kiss you on the lips," implies that the blonde performed oral sex on the Evil French Programme guy.

I thought the sex scene was so-so, but as I said, I'm not a big fan of them in general. As someone else mentioned before, I'm kind of a fan of the pre-coital fade to black - post-coital fade in.

The rave scene shots were worthlessly slowed down as they were intercut with the sex scene, making it all seem to run for much longer than it did. What's the point of seeing a rave in slow-motion, anyway? It just makes it boring...
