old republic v.s. yuhuzan vong
i was thinking I'm not sure if this is done or not but what if the vong inavded the star wars galaxy during the time of the old republic say 50 years before the phantom menace . I'm not saying that who will win but how will the star wars galaxy cope in the aftermath like how will the populace react to the fact that they are extragalactic I think it will be quite interesting becase the jedi believe in the force to be in alll living things what will the jedi make of the vong who isn't part of the force It might case most of them to become sith and the other aftereffects.

Assuming that the Yuuzhan Vong had the same level of intelligence, etc. on the Old Republic as they did against the New Republic, and assuming a reasonable parity of resources, the Yuuzhan Vong would win even more easily. The Old Republic had NO military. Its Jedi were powerful, but they did not make up for a lack of armies and fleets. The Old Republic would be swept aside without any real chance to defend itself, and it might even be forced from the field more quickly than the New Republic. I also see no opportunities that the Old Republic would have for counter-attacking, or even fighting holding actions. I don't see how the OR could hope for victory during this scenario.

First off, Master of Ossus is definately correct. In no way could the Old Republic have held off a Yuuzhan Vong invasion. (Which actually creates the question why didn't the Yuuzhan Vong invade? Perhaps they were not ready to attack yet either)
And the time period you refer to about the Yuuzhan Vong scouts penetrating the galaxy, that was about 50 years before the New Jedi Order series, thus placing it almost exactly the time of The Phantom Menace, not 50 years before it.

The OR had no united military, but many individual worlds had regional defense fleets, ref AOTCICS.

No one denies this, in fact most of us would know that. But if the New Republic navy as a whole can not stop the Yuuzhan Vong, I'd like to know how a few small planetary fleets with no unity will defeat a united Yuuzhan Vong.Howedar wrote:The OR had no united military, but many individual worlds had regional defense fleets, ref AOTCICS.
