Orena Military Airfield

August 22nd 2010, 0610

It was a beautiful summer, colonel Kanawka thought. The sun didn't seem to care about the biowar, the mass slaughter, ballistic missile attacks and counter-attacks and millions of death - it rised in the east as it always did, slowly bathing the city in its rays. Martial Law was still in effect, of course: nobody knew what tricks Shepistan had up its sleeve. There was word the RSS "Jack" surrendered and revealed it had standing orders to destroy the world. There were outbreaks of deadly disease here and there. Even in PeZookia, the coast was heavily patrolled and no travel whatsoever was allowed. The true extent of the damage would become clear in time.

Kanawka put on his cap. The sunrise was gorgeous, but he had a duty to perform. He straightened out his uniform and walked outside.

"Attention!", shouted the sergeant. The firing squad has assembled already. PeZookia had no real place to conduct such business, so they simply chose the parking lot next to the barracks.

"At ease. Have you distributed the ammunition to your men?"

"Yes, sir!"

Kanawka nodded. They had to go through the pretense: none of the men actually got wooden bullets, as the common myth said. But it was a useful myth, so it was maintained.

The prisoners were marched into the parking lot. A total of twenty men.
They were all very young, dressed in field uniforms of the PeZookian army. Stripped of their belts and rank, all of them were judged guilty of looting, prisoner abuse, rape, murder and desertion. They were escorted by several grim-faced, heavily armed guards.

No other soul was present at the barracks. The guards brought the first six men before the designated wall.

"To positions!", Kanawka shouted, and the firing squad lined up in front of the prisoners. One or two might've thought about escaping, but they wouldn't make four steps before being shot and killed. Colonel Kanawka opened a leather-binded folder.

"In the name of the Republic of PeZookia, operating under martial law, the prisoners...", he read their names slowly and deliberately, "Have been found guilty of the following crimes..."

The reading sounded surreal on the empty parking lot. The prisoners were becoming uneasy.

"...and have been sentenced to be shot at dawn."

Kanawka closed the folder and looked at their young, scared faces.

"Ready! Aim!", the sergeant bellowed. Kanawka noticed the shaking hands of most of the firing squad's men.

"Fire!"

Result:
PeZookia ruthlessly maintains discipline in its military for the duration of martial law. King Paul gets nightmares from that.

Coilerburg

Well, that's another silver lining to Iler's reign, thought General Argent as he read reports detailing the Shepistani strikes. Iler had financed the development of weapons equally dangerous as the ones that Shepistan had unleashed-or attempted to unleash. Thankfully, the development didn't get very far before Iler was kicked out and his successors cancelled the programs, but it did mean that Coilerburg had procedures for dealing with "leaks" that they used to great effect.

Only one missile made it to Coilerburg, landing in an unhabited countryside by the Omagoan border. Argent's planes repeatedly firebombed the landing site, while soldiers in protective suits quickly secured the area and instituted a tight quarantine. They had to shoot and burn a few unfortunate animals, but apart from that, everything went smoothly, and Coilerburg could rest easy.

"You uppity negro. I knew you were unfit to lead!" Captain Gene Al-Hackman spat. "You've given up our country to them - the goddamn Astarians, the cocksucking Crimsons, the shit-eating Shroomanians! You've killed us all!"

Image

"Captain," Executive Officer B. Hussein Osama repeated himself. "Stand down and relinquish command. It's over."

"Fuck you," Captain Al-Hackman said.

"Relieve him of his post and escort him to his quarters," XO Osama ordered the Shepistani Marines.

"Get your hands off me," Al-Hackman brushed off his escorts and left the bridge by himself. "I'm going to take a shit!"

X.O. Osama allowed himself a sigh of relief before he turned to the officer manning the comms. "Ensign, broadcast a message to the Shroomanian and Byzantine submarines tailing us. Tell them... we surrender."

Before the ensign could complete the message, the Shroomanian and Byzantine hunter killer submarines tailing the RSS Jack heard a distinct noise in their sonar - something that sounded not unlike a gunshot.

Captain Al-Hackman had gone to his quarters to take a shit, and on his toilet bowl he picked up his gun and blew his brains out.

Sun Rise

Image

Undisclosed Location, somewhere in the Kirkwood Mountains

The sun rose slowly above the white peaks of the great massif that was the Kirkwood Mountains. It was a spectacular sight, rivalling the most beautiful sunrises over the spires of San Dorado City, and made even more beautiful by the realization that the city-state would live to see another day.

"Well, what do you know", the President smiled as he enjoyed the warmth of the sunlight on his skin. It was the first time he smelt fresh air in weeks. Well, fresh if you ignored the pungent odour of the diesel locomotive waiting to take him and the four members of the Superboard back to the city. "We live to fight another day."

"Did you ever doubt we would?" Daphne Sinclair asked teasingly.

"Honestly? Yeah. For a moment there, I kind of did."

"Well, we're not through yet", grumbled Sam Ralson. Trust him to be ever the pessimist, even though Ralson was obviously overjoyed to have finally escaped the confines of the deep bunker. "Our field agents are getting scattered reports of plague outbreaks in the northern PRSF. We took apart two rockets and our allies have shot a score more, but we don't know where the wreckage came down, and what sort of nastiness may have survived to touch the ground. So we better be on our toes for now."

"Yes, yes, all in good time. Coordinate with the FTO, we can handle it. Anything else?"

"The city held up surprisingly well, all things considered", Helena Skye remarked brightly. "AIP and Citidef had to only marginally step up their patrols. Otherwise, it's chaos as usual!"

For once I'll thank Sweet Lady Fortune for the people of this city the President thought as he stepped aboard the armoured train coach. "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, now that the crisis is over, and we've all survived, I think champagne is in order!"

Result: train party!

Southport Naval Base, Canissia

"They surrendered this morning, sir," the Captain of the Canissian destroyer said as he turned over the logs of the Shepistani submarine to his squadron commander. They looked at the ragged collection of scared, but grateful, Shepistani sailors being led off the boat. For most Canissians, this was the first they'd ever seen one of the "enemy" before, and they evoked mostly sympathy or pity in their scared, drawn faces. They looked around nervously, as if seeing the sun for the first time, or expected to be eaten.

"I don't know who the smart-ass was that decided to put a copy of the movie On the Beach in the sub's library," the Captain said, "But I want to shake his hand."

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Imperial Chronicles

The roar of missiles filled the city, as they surged forward to intercept the ballistic missiles. There were plenty of missiles to waste, and they were fired. THELs fired at any that blew threw the defences. But nothing did. Tens of billions poured into air defences served them well. Messages however were sent to the FTO inquiring on whether they required any assistance.

As for the Shepistani prisoners of war, they were rounded and questioned. Their submarines impounded for inspection and dissection to learn all their secrets. Whether or not they would be released remained an open question. For the most part, many requested asylum in Byzantium and Shroomania.

The Empire now would continue its commitment to the defences of the realm, and deal with its enemies as it saw fit.

Constantinople Times

Arabia to be officially annexed.

Arabia has long been held in trust by the Byzantine Empire as a buffer zone between the two Caliphates. With the approval of the Syrian Caliphate, who will continue to receive a good portion of oil revenues, and other forms of tribute, Arabia shall be annexed, and the city of Arabiapolis will be founded. A massive new port and shipyard, and airport will be founded as the government attempts to position Arabiapolis as a major transhipment hub for the shipment of goods between the Old Continent and beyond. The rail lines that have been laid will also help bring goods across the continent to the city for shipment abroad. People will be encouraged to move to Arabiapolis, as well as citizens from the various caliphates. It should be noted that the Egyptian Caliphate didn't altogether approve the annexation, and their Sultan was said to have uttered thousands of curses at the Byzantine Ambassador, before grudgingly giving his approval.

Mecca and Medina will still be open to all Muslims to visit, and the Byzantine Emperor has given his promise that it will always be open, till the end of times.

Ministry of Derfense confirms destruction of two Shepistani submarines

The Ministry of Defense today confirmed that members of Patrol Group Gold, Submarine Squadron 1 were engaged in actions that have resulted in the sinking of two Shepistani Jack class submarines. The spokesman did not give time for questions and stated only that an emergency finding of the Committee for Imperial Defense held that the Shepistani bio-attacks on Astaria constituted a threat to the peace and that the super subs were likely, due to their position, moving to attack Wilkonia, Cascadia, Tian Xia or The Shinra Republic.

No response has been made by the Shpeistani Ambassador nor have members of his staff been available for comment. In the meantime reports continue to flow in of disease ravaging the Shepistani border with the Old Dominon. MESS Observers with the border units have noticed a marked increase in attempts of potentially infected persons to flee Shepistan. Already the MESS is convening an emergency session to determine how best to aid those who remain uninfected while preventing a further spread of the diseases.

"We deplore the use of biological agents and today affirm that any nation, henceforth, which uses such agents against a civilian populace is to be considered rogue by Wilkonia and the Crown"

This statement from the King's Chancellor Sir Robert Friedrichson. Follow on information provided to the press has indicated that Wilkonia has decided to send additional envoys to the CSR to discover why bio-weapons were used however the, admittedly limited, trade and diplomatic ties between the CSR and Wilkonia will remain intact.

Official Announcement by the Government of the Old Dominion

Under the original "Donation of Romanos III Diogenes", which granted the Continent of Shepland to the Stewardship of the Crusading Orders of the Sovereign Order of the Soldiers of the Patrimony of Our Lord, and The Sovereign Military Order of the Brother-Soldiers of Saint Augustine, the entirety of Shepland is declared to be under the protection of Augustine and the Old Dominion.

Any uninvited foreign forces landing in the territories formerly known as Shepistan, east Shepistan, and St. Kitteridge will be assumed to be hostile to the Old Dominion, and dealt with appropriately.

After a suitable quarantine period, the Old Dominion will aid in the reconstruction of civil authority in the area formerly known as Shepistan and St. Kitterridge.

[Undisclosed Location], Shinra Republic

"Report?"

"Well, we managed to deal with most incomings, but one leaked through. Full quarantine measures were taken, and the Cascadian Cure we had were extremely helpful."

"I'll be sure to thank President Garrett for that later. What of the sub hunting?"

"Well, Wilkonia is apparently nailing them pretty good. We did have one of their SSANs surrender in Canissia. And some of our people say a second surrendered to a joint Byzantine/Shroomanian force."

"So they're accounted for?"

"We believe so, yes."

"Well double check that. If there's nothing else, you all may go."

**********************

Open communication to all leaders

The Shinra Republic calls for an international conference to discuss a treaty banning the use of biological weapons, as well as determing the best ways to send aid to all states that were affected, including the former Islamic Republic of Shepistan, now under the administrative control of the Old Dominion.

**********************

Message to the Lord Fairfax of the Old Dominion from President Shinra

My friend, my nation stands ready to lend all aid and assistance that we can to assist you and your government in stabilizing the situation on the Shepland continent.

And might I suggest we propose a new name for the place?

Cialan News Online Headlines:

Suicidal Stepistan Bioweapon attack stopped.

Attack Subs Sink or Surrender

ICBM strikes 30 miles of Stanton

Aid and Protection into Astaria planned.

Investment into Arabia planned with other OC nations

Ciaran had done the right thing and he knew it. The last gasp of Shep was to try and drown the world in swarms of bioweapons but his planned had failed due to sheer practicality and morals of the sub commanders themselves. There had been some damage though. The Shepistan forces had tried to use his smaller missile defence network to turn Cialan into the Typhoid Mary of the Old Continent as well as a few other nations. Virtually all missiles had been shot down except for one that had landed off Stanton. The response was swift. The area was quarantined off and nothing was allowed to move in or out the zone. The Healthcare service of Cialan was put on level 3 alert for infections and borders were closed for the time being. There was a silver lining to this cloud though.

The Republic of Cialan now had a golden chance to help restore Astaria and use her as a useful little base. The country was stuck so far up that it did not really have any presence or say in large affairs that could bite the country. He would be sending a military task force in to control any riots or horrors caused by the bio attacks and hasten the recovery process as well as the original anti slavery process. Aid, hospital ships and decontamination gear would be sent in. Even better was the market plans in Arabia which would be profitable. Bluewolf was to invest 850 million into the join project and encourage several of Cialans top grossing companies to set up shop there so to speak.

Result: Missile lands and area is blocked around it, hospitals put on a high alert level for safety.

Task force made to be sent to Astaria to help decontaminate and aid.

Investment of 850 into an Arabian grand market and encouragement for companies to trade there.

Livorno, AFSR

"We've recieve reports that you got hit by a bio weapon attack. We give you a choice: contain the infection, or we'll contain it for you."

"How would you do that?"

"Set fire to the area, and for a not insignificant distance around it. Burn everything, until only ash remains. It behooves you to ensure adequate measures are taken."

"How could you contemplate such a thing?"

"Op Plan Bravo Indigo - in case of biowarfare, destroy anywhere contamination has occured, to prevent spread. That's only part of Bravo Indigo, by the way. If you require supplies to effect the containment, we offer whatever you need."

--

300 miles off the coast of Astaria
SSGN-501 "Red Springs"

Captain Reza opened his sealed orders, knowing what they contained. He turned to read them aloud. "In accordance with Operations Plan Bravo Indigo, the Huang Di has ordered a chemical weapons strike on Astaria. This in retribution for the use of biological weapons. We are ordered to make for a point sufficiently within weapons range, and to make a maximum effort strike upon the Astarian homeland. May the ancestors have mercy upon our souls for what we do."

Hatches on the dorsal sides of the submarine opened, revealing the contained cruise missile launch tubes. Tomahawks vomited from those tubes, breaching the surface, and rising, then diving back to their cruise altitude. Some were shot down by the Astarian air defenses, but the vast majority were able to succeed in their mission.

Elsewhere, four other TXN SSGNs undergo the same evolutions, totalling 850 tomahawks targetted on Astaria and Astarian South Velaria.

Results: AFSR contains their infected area (or else).
160 tons of chemical weapons gets distributed over Astaria
40 tons of chemical weapons gets distributed over Astaria controlled South Veleria

The Corporate Republic of San Dorado cordially accepts your invitation. President Sidney Hank will be attending himself.

Board dispatches relief force to the ASFR
A relief task force, consisting of among others the LHD CNS Pride and Profit and the Flexible Support Ship CNS William Dampier has been dispatched to the ASFR after that nation's government accepted an offer by the Board to help contain and sterilize the regional outbreak of lethal pathogens. Other nations of the FTO are expected to contribute to the relief effort as well, signalling a change in the relations between the alliance and the ASFR, which was previously best described as 'cold and distant'.

Camp Kittyhawk succesfully launches first ASSET
At the Rocketfields today a Lucrelance I medium lift rocket succesfully boosted the first Aerothermodynamic Elastic Structural Systems Environmental Test into orbit. Asked whether it was wise to conduct a rocket test so soon after the Pathogen War, Gen. Jane Masterson commented "no worries, we informed all nations who would want to know about such things in advance. Well, apart from Shepistan of course, but then again they don't really exist anymore". The ASSET was initially planned to be launched by a Lucrelance II, but sources in Ralson Aerospace have told the Kittyhawk Gazette magazine that the new rocket is not yet ready for service, due to a problem with the booster separation system.

Minute of Silence for Dead Kittens
Before session today the Board of Directors held a solemn one-minute silent vigil to commemorate the passing of two brave kittens, who died aboard the recently-launched Mercury capsule. "These brave creatures gave their life so that humankind would find its way to the stars", commented Wade Meyer, Director of the Trust. "And for that, they deserve our undying gratitude. A minute of silence is the least we can do." During the session, the Board unanimously approved a proposition by Meyer that a remembrance memorial for the two kittens be funded and placed in the atrium of the Tower of Commerce, so that all the many thousands of daily visitors will be reminded of their heroic sacrifice for the sake of scientific progress. Asked if it would not be better to remember all the people who died in the recent war, Meyer seemed outraged: "Remember slavers and genocidal jackasses? Fuck no!"

The Royal Retreat at Azzan, the Commonwealth of Vineyards

Image
The Majestic Glory of Cloud Ruler Temple, the upper floors of the Royal Retreat at Azzan

“Sire, big news,” the technician monitoring the communications equipment said, “One of the Sheppos last ditch missiles landed in the ASFR.”

“Call whoever is in charge, just ask Livrono and see if the FTO can help them in any way.”

“Before you go sire, one other thing; Shinra and Baerne are calling for bio-weapons bans.”

“Well, we’ll send someone to sign whatever treaty they propose. Is that all?”

“No, Reports are coming in, the unaccounted for Sheppo Jacks have either surrendered or have been destroyerd.”

“So, Shep’s reign of terror is over.”

“What was that?”

”Nothing, nothing. Now, I have a question, could the upper levels function as a permanent home for the royal family?”

“I don’t see why not, it is now just being used as a museum.”

“Very good.”

Results:
The Commonwealth is no longer waiting for Shep to kill us all, and is beginning to return to normal.
None of the States of the Commonwealth were hit by missiles.
Assistance offered to the ASFR.
The Commonwealth will push for a full ban at the Baernish conference on bio-weapon bans.

CSR Communique

Anyone who sends troops to contaminated territories will be considered a carrier of epidemic and his nation would be under a travel ban. We are sure that other nations would behave the same way.

Cialan shall not compromise the biological safety of the Old Continent by reckless behaviour.

Pax River Airbase, Shepistan Quarantine Zone

The CA101s landed at the edge of the sprawling airbase, and the Dominion Knights and ODA Rangers disembarked. The men set up a perimeter around the LZ, then proceeded to one of the bunker entrances. The Facility was relatively close to the border with the OD, and the still substantial tide of refugees might come through the area. High above a new Combat Optics Reaper was orbiting in a lazy fashion, keeping an eye on the premises.

The Major noticed the door to the bunker was ajar. Well, blown open, at any rate.

"Alright, Wadkins take point. Be careful."

Image

The team entered the depths of the bunker. There was carnage all over the place, with dead bodies littering the passageways. Most were clearly combat casualties rather than sufferers from the BW attacks.

Image

"Looks like everyone is dead..." Corporal Smuckatelli said.

"Thank you for the insight, Corporal." Major Kolby said. "I better call Habbrudder Jaeger."

20 minutes later...
The CH-47 came in for a landing near the bunker entrance. A second sweep had confirmed that everyone in the bunker was dead, and the teams had managed to force their way into the semi-buried hardened aircraft shelters.

"And boom goes the dynamite." said Major Kolby. Several Sukhois were lined up, in pristine condition, in the maintenance area. "Alright, get to work." The ODAAF personnel from the CH47 stepped forward...

Results: The OD has begun to sneak teams into Shepistan to survey items, sites,a nd personnel of interest. Most will be wrapped up for preservation for a later(years in the future) expedition to recover them. Meanwhile....

"Well, at least they Shepistani Air Force is kaput." The ODA Captain said. "Otherwise this would be much harder."

"It's hard enough." Colonel "R Dubya" Joy grunted. "These ad hoc combat units are bad enough. Shepistani army units with Kanahwa Tribesman. What are the odds? And a healthy intermixing of women and Children..." Joy shook his head. The attempted break into the Old Dominion proper was failing spectacularly across the board, mostly because of the complete loss of government function in Shepistan. The rough part was that munitions were actually drying up. The only factories declared to be safe to operate were in the Eastern part of the oD, along the Augustine border. MESS airlifters were periodically dropping supplies, and the ODA would probably run out of targets before it ran out of ammo, but still...

Results: The borders of the Old Dominion proper remain sealed. In East Shepistan, the death toll is now nearing 50 million. In Shepistan itself, the death toll is substantial more than that. In the Old Dominion the deathtoll is less than 400,000, although virtually all economic activity has ceased, except for refineries(recall that the SPR is in excess of 600mil barrels) and some munitions plants. Augustine has under a hundred thousand fatalities. St. Kitterridge is wiped out.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Ministry of Defense reactivates Southern Command

Today the Ministry announced that it was reactivating Southern Command an beginnign efforts to repositon the 14th Division accordingly. Ministry spokesmen would not comment on an exact role for the troops but several sources have indicated that they will be used as the Wilkonian component overseeing the restoration of civilian government in what was once Shepistan and St Kitteridge. Sources have indicated that they will be subject to a Status of Forces agreement with the Old Dominion the text of which is classified secretly enough to bring life sentences to those revealing the information.

Legio VII Syria Kataphrateoi, Legio III Athens Comitatenses and Legio XIV Airbourne Comitatenses have landed in Arabia and have annexed Arabia for the Byzantine Empire. The Strategos of the Legios have been given orders to secure the land and establish Byzantine suzerainty over the lands. Once the perimeter has been established, Byzantine authorities will move in to establish civilian authority and necessary government apparatus.

Reply to Shinra Republic

The Byzantine Emperor is willing to send representatives, or to attend such a conference himself.

Also, rename that damn forsaken western half of that continent.

Crimson Star Republic, Federal Road M-3, Grozny-Stasograd. Outskirts of Grozny. Public diner.
Image
Slowly the sun rose over the vast plains of the Crimson Star Republic. It was cold, and misty fog creeped here and there, though snow was never seen here in the southernmost part of the CSR, a Black Sea resort city. The public diner was a poor one; and the recent economic crisis caused by the biological war underscored this: almost all shelves with foods were empty, and only a handful of basic courses were offered on the menu.

It was this diner that the CSR Militsia suspected of harboring criminal elements. The criminals - which immediately increased their activity due to the Martial Law measures which prohibited normal citizens from appearing on the streets: metal was vandalized, flats were robbed and people were killed - have chosen the most stricken regions, where the economy was hard-hit and military-distributed rations were running out; they became the blackest kind of market, trading rations which were forcefully stolen from military vans, or their rightful owners. The latter usually with the owners dead. Those rations then became a product of trade at some poorer diners; the owners of a diner rarely asked about the generous donations that the shady dealers made. Police sanctions from the government did not frighten them much - with most of the militsia's power dedicated to upholding public order, most criminal investigations have stopped short in their tracks.

Most, but not all.
Image
- Comrade Rudnev? I'm afraid I'll have to arrest you... - spoke the militsia officer to a white-haired man, entering the room. - We had an order from the capital...
Image
- Comrade, - the person replied with a dry voice. - I'm only your comrade because the PCIA think I should be. But in fact, people are not equal. No amount of "Soviet power" will change this fundamental truth.

He pulled out a gun and shot the militia officer in the chest. The diner stood silent. Most of the people fell to the floor and lay still, hoping that he won't kill them all.

- Maybe it will serve as a reminder to you all, - he slowly walked out of the diner.

He then took a Volga car standing in the parking lot, and drove towards Stasograd. Somewhere half down the road, he took the aging resin facial mask elements off his face and changed the clothes, burning the prior set. Complete with fake documents for a person known as PCIA Major Ivan Vasilievich Grozny, he soon crossed the first police post on the road to Stasograd.
Image
His goal was simple. There was a man in the Crimson Star Republic higher circles that wanted to see him. It could've been a trap... but then, it could've been something that would lead him to victory.

Ex-Shepistani Embassy
Ashford City

22 August 2010

Image
The surviving staff of the Shepistani Embassy, detained by the Langley National Police

When news first broke out of the remnants of the remnants of the Shepistani Navy's surface fleet staging bioweapons strikes on random locations all over the world, public opinion in the Duchy of Langley turned from mere ambivalence (the response to the Anti-Shep riot notwithstanding) to outright hatred. Langley itself was one of the targets of the Shepistani bioweapons strike; due to the Department of Defense's ultimately wise decision to invest in Aegis-equipped frigates and CSR-made anti-ballistic missiles, despite being caught almost by surprise, the Langley Armed Forces were able to completely nullify the attack on their end. In retaliation, the very same Langley National Police officers who once tried to defend the Shepistani Embassy from Shroompeace terrorists and punk anarchists were now in the process of overrunning it.

The assault began during the guard shift change at sunrise, when an overflight by a group of four UH-1Y Venom utility copters coincided with a ramming attack through the gates by a V-150 armored car. Due to the shift change, the Shepistani soldiers were largely caught by surprise; large numbers were cut down by the V-150's machine gun, though quite a few still retained enough composure to return fire. The V-150 was soon joined by the very same UH-1Ys that had buzzed the Embassy earlier; two provided direct fire support with pintle-mounted FN MAGs, while the other two proceeded to drop off SWAT officers on the roof.

As the firefight raged outdoors, the SWAT officers proceeded to make their way into the Embassy proper. Most of the civilian workers, caught in the process of shredding documents and wiping hard drives, chose to surrender themselves and their files to the officers. The military presence within the Embassy, on the other hand, chose to resist to the last man. They intended to make these shit-eating sons of Shroomanians pay in blood for every square foot of the building, though their efforts were largely for naught; they were soon overtaken by a second assault, this time through the main entrance by an entire platoon of Langley Army soldiers backed up by several ERC-90 Sagaies and M1117 Guardians.

Little were they aware that the Embassy workers had managed to send off one final message before they were overrun...

This... Is Station One, San Dorado's News Source Supreme!

Board announces massive foreign investment
Arabiapolis, the massive new port, shipyard, and airport being founded by Byzantium, is to receive a multi-billion dollar investment by San Dorado industries. Standard Oil, Blues Brothers Steel & Shipping, freight liner Air Gemini and Morgan Finance International have each already announced individual investments in the high hundreds of millions of dollars in various projects in Arabiapolis. At this stage it is unclear what this involvement means exactly for the new city, but San Dorado might very well end up with controlling interests in various key industries once the port city opens.

Asked to comment on the sudden move Michelle Bedford, temporary CEO for Standard Oil, replied that "there's oil there. Lots of oil. This is a great opportunity for Standard Oil to establish a presence on the northern hemisphere - and it's made even better by the knowledge we won't be the only San Doradans in Arabia!"

Location: Army Base, Sarajevo, USSR

"You have been found guilty of crimes against the Shadow Union, your penalty is death.", The USSR Commissar shouted at the group of Shepistani diplomats and soldiers, "Any last words?"

"We are not guilty. Please spare us.", begged one Shepistani diplomat. "Fucking Shadow bastards, you should have...", started one Shepistani soldier but was interrupted by the back end of an AK-47 colliding with his face.

"No mercy for the enemies of the USSR.", the Commissar said, "Ready, Aim..."

"No, you bastards.", someone shouted.

"Fire!"

Result:
Traitorous Shepistani personnel from the embassy in Sarajevo are executed.
