Free DVD-video burner software?

Post by mauldooku »

Ok, so I've got individual video files, in both DIVX format, and in a TS_VIDEO folder (converted using a program called DivxToDVD). Here's what I need to do:

Burn these to a DVD-R, so that the video will be readable by my commercial DVD player (haven't had any problems with this part). The burner program needs to be free, Windows-XP-installable, AND be able to make a SIMPLE title screen: nothing fancy AT ALL, merely functional. I want to be able to select individual video files I've burned from it. That's it. Also: no watermarks of any kind!

I can't see to find anything that fulfills all of these requirements, ImToo DVD Creater fulfills everything but adds a nasty, opaque, huge watermark in the center of the screen.

I know there are other, stand-alone programs used to make video titles, but I have no idea how to get what they output into my burner program.

Any help here? I've spent several hours googling this problem, and am completely lost.

Thanks!

If this is a one time deal, you could install the 15 day trial version of Nero 7 and then delete it when you're done.
Other than that, I don't really know of any free software that does what you want to do.

Welcome to the wonderful world of DVD authoring. In the time it takes you to finally get a satisfactory result, try to remember that killing yourself and / or the makers of all these shitty, poorly documented programs won't actually result in a working DVD-R.

Most DVD-RW drives, even OEM tend to come bundled with burning software.
