The key, of course, being "the world" as in the entire world, global flood style. He's just not up for mass worldwide genocide until the end. It's down to a few dozen to a few thousand a disaster these days. What a nice guy.
He's flooded Eastern Australia as well. Naturally, us Australians are hanging around saying, "Well, serves us right for asking for rain but not specifying how much, nor how quickly."

Several rivers in the Gippsland region of southeastern Victoria state burst their banks late Thursday after two days of heavy rain inundated the region after months of severe drought.
Police helicopters airlifted around 100 people to safety from several flooded towns Thursday, and Victoria's Premier Steve Bracks warned residents downstream to brace for the onslaught Friday.
"There's a body of water that's coming," Bracks told the Nine television network, adding that the floods are the worst Victoria has seen in 37 years.
Television footage showed a mile-wide river of muddy floodwaters engulfing homes and leaving herds of cattle stranded in ankle-deep swamps.
Geoff Ponsford, a farmer from near Tinamba, had been wading in water up to his armpits to check on his neighbors when he realized he needed to evacuate and called police for a helicopter airlift.
"There was hardly a dry place any where. I was frozen. The lowest water was up to my knees," he told The Age newspaper.
More than 90 people were evacuated from the nearby dairy farming town of Newry, around 120 miles northeast of Melbourne, when the swollen Macalister River inundated the town.
Hundreds of displaced residents have fled to makeshift relief shelters, while the state and federal government have promised federal relief to help rebuild homes.
