As I look over the reports of THE GLORIOUS SURGE OF THE PEOPLE'S GLORIOUS CONSERVATIVE REPUBLIC OF DEMOCRACY, something's caught my eye.

'Al Qeada. Al Qeada. Al Qeada.'

Not too long ago, officialy estimates pegged A-Q as less than ten percent of the fighters in Iraq. Now, everything refers to A-Q. Propaganda, AWAY!

Haven't you heard the latest catchphrases on the Sunday talk shows, Nitram? "If we leave Iraq we are retreating in the face of Al-Qaeda." "If we leave Iraq we are abandoning the country to Al-Qaeda." How they can say shit like this with a straight face I will never understand. It is embarassing to still see this AlQaeda bullshit trotted out whenever the Republicans are in trouble like some sort of twisted mantra.

Of around 85,000 insurgents who have been killed in action against American forces, little more than 5,000 of them were foreign fighters under the aegis of al-Qaeda, which gives a pretty good idea of a ratio of al-Qaeda to other groups fighting us--about 1 al-Qaeda man for every 16 Iraqis.

More like: "If we leave, Al Qaeda fighters will get roasted on spits by the Shia and Sunnis".

Highly doubtful for 85,000. More likely 20,000 the rest who are labeled insurgents were more likely just average joes who took up a gun when they heard their door busted down in the night due to bad intel and got shot and labeled an Insurgent.

Other possibilities are people in the wrong place, or men who made an enemy of someone with the ear of the U.S. Military and died defending themselves.
