I think it is important because it notes that, at best, circumcision is delaying the inevitable. That fact is really important for people to see; especially since a lot of the media (and the WHO letters) concerning HIV/circumcision call the procedure a "vaccine" or allude to it being "as good as a vaccine."TheFeniX wrote:This study isn't an argument for/against circumcision. Say NO to circumcision IT'S A BOY! This is a great link to show expecting parents.

On the matter of the OP: No, if I still had a foreskin to begin with. But a fucking rubber on and you get better protection. And for even more protection make sure you and your partner both know each other's health history. If people would be a little intelligent with who they have sex with AIDS and HIV would be less of a problem. Hell, all STDs would be.
On the matter of circumcision I'm quite opposed to doing it to non-consenting infants unless medically nescessary. I'm not going to bother rehashing the points made already. They've been made more eloquently and pointedly than I could make them. Hats off.
I'm going to point out the danger of anesthetics on infants. Be it general or local, the amount that can kill an infant is miniscule even for the size of their body. I've heard that novacaine, which is used at the dentist, has a lethal dose in a healthy adult between 9 and 11 shots. I would imagine a shot is around 1cc.
So what about no anesthetic? You put the poor kid into shock. Find Penn and Teller's Bullshit episode on circumcision. Warning, it shows circumcisions, penises, etc. Avoid watching if you have a weak stomach because it contains graphic images. They show the infant post circumcision and the kid is obviously in shock from no anesthetics.
Circumcision used to prevent cancer or illness is on par with declawing a cat or causing massive scarring on the hands. Hey, scar tissue is less prone to melanoma, right? (Okay, so I don't know for sure. But it's no less a bullshit arguement than the ones commonly trumped for circumcision.)

Sig images are for people who aren't fucking lazy.
