In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right. So I say you've got to cap with a number.
John McCain: In America today we've got a very strong economy and low unemployment, so we need addition farm workers, including by the way agriculture, but there may come a time where we have an economic downturn, and we don't need so many.
O'Reilly: But in this bill, you guys have got to cap it. Because estimation is 12 million, there may be 20 [million]. You don't know, I don't know. We've got to cap it.
McCain: We do, we do. I agree with you
This exchange can be watched probably on YouTube, but also on McCain's website: Link
Racist, sexist, and whatever you call a bigot who focuses on religion. And they happily admit it.
Manic Progressive: A liberal who violently swings from anger at politicos to despondency over them.
Out Of Context theatre: Ron Paul has repeatedly said he's not a racist. - Destructinator XIII on why Ron Paul isn't racist.
It's almost surreal. You think they at least should have handlebar mustaches that they twirl sinisterly while discussing how the evil liberals are trying to bring women, heathens, and brown people into the power structure of the US.
Those heathen brown women are probably lesbians too, right?
But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you're a part, and so am I
Holy fucking shit. Mysogynist racist religious scumbag - and proud of it.

You can't possibly say that without knowing you sound like an asshole to even the dumbest of viewers. You just can't.

Your opinion of the audience is rather high. Aren't around 1/3rd of it so hardcore that they'd cheer that statement (it seems that around 1/3rd of America's population would even cheer "Sieg Heil!" if doing so promised them "democracy and freedom", wars with "resourceful and inventive enemies", capitalism and fluffy bunnies).

They might agree with the sentiment at the heart of the statement, but they can still tell that it sounds like it came from someone who pines for the days before them damn niggers started getting all uppity. Seriously, "white male Christian power structure"? He couldn't have said it more blatantly without using a racial slur. It sounds like something a moderate KKK supporter would say. Even those at the bottom of the barrel know that overt racism = bad.

If you don't dress a white cape, but speak as a KKKlansman, it's okay. O'reilly is not the first open racist in the American "punditry", and there are also more or less openly racist politicians (and McCain apparently blew his cover in this little cuddly racist talk with O'Buddy).

In other words, someone like them. Who do you think his core audience is? Their median age is 71, for fuck's sake. They all grew up in the "golden age" of Jim Crow, remember?

No, they don't.

You know, ten years ago or even five, he was ok. I didn't agree with everything the guy said, but as a talking head went, he was ok.
Then his ego went super nova and the fucker is just intolerable. His culture war crap is infuriating, as the smaller verison is 'war on christmas'. At this point he's a pompus asshole and I think the quote this thread is based on just about sums it up perfectly.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. What is more interesting is that people haven't so far extensively commented on McCain agreeing with the fuck's statements and not immediately retorting to the Ku Klux Bill. I guess being a crypto-racist is no longer popular in America. Being an open one is far cooler.

Well, well: Bill'O is openly admitting to being a racist, mysogynist and religious supremacist. What a fucking surprise.

Indeed.
Although that little shit-tick's respect withered some time ago. A maverick, right.

Not surprising ever since he was made their bitch after South Carolina in 2000.

Apparently being a maverick means getting more racist than your counterparts in McCain's book. That's the gist of maverick action.
Aside from "Iraq is just as safe as..." travesty which was painful to see on TV (yes, Russian TV also broadcasted McCain's tour-de-ridicule around Iraq)

I really do pray like, every day...that Obama wins the election. I really, really, really just want that so bad. Just to see what the Faux News clan will say. I just want to see it, to hear it, to be there...when they point at a picture of a black guy and say "The, er...is this right? Ok. The President...dont know how that happened...of the United States."
Oh really? Look what happened to Don Imus: his career is in the shitter thanks to his comments. And let's not forget Mel Gibson's wonderful little tirade, or Michael Richards' unpleasant outburst. They were both tarred and feathered. I think you're a bit too cynical.

Get back to me one month from now and tell me if Bill O'Reilly still has his show and his loyal audience. Then we'll see who's "too cynical".

For once, I'd love you to be totally wrong on this, Mike. If Bill O'Really pushed beyond breaking point one day, even for FOX, and that ended his career (on cable at least), then it would be a fine year for decency to some extent.
Any last shred of hope that McCain might have had to appear as a 'moderate' that could 'appeal to a broad spectrum' is pretty much gone. He's tried so hard to suck up to the hard Right in order to garner their votes it is embarrassing to watch him. And, for all that, the hard Right never forgave him for dissing their Evangelical leaders.
I kinda wonder if this was bait by O'Reilly to see just how far McCain was willing to go to suck dick for the ultraconservatives. Maybe knowing that people in the middle or left would be turned off by this and basically burn his bridges for him.
Anyone who walks blithely into a comment about "the white male Christian power structure" is a fucking moron.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around! If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!! Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!
Anyone who walks blithely into a comment about "the white male Christian power structure" is a fucking moron.
Walking into it is being a moron. Saying "I agree" to the person who said that is worse than just being a moron.
