I suppose this is a good a time as any to join a bandwagon.
I've been losing weight since just before Christmas, I went from a high of 205 to about 193 right now. I was sick over the break, so I lost weight because of that, but I've also been spending time on the ice during free skates MWF. I'm scheduling my next semesters around the free skates, even. And today I worked out at the gym until I couldn't feel anything anymore. I'm gonna need a lot of Advil in the morning, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Also, I've gone from a 36 jeans to 34, which are loose. This is good, except I need new jeans, since my 34s are either torn up and covered in paint, or really long and ugly. I think I'm at a 33 though, so maybe I'll hold of until I loose enough inches to get into 32s...
The BMI says I should be around 160-170 or about that, but I don't really see it happening... 180 might be about right for me, I think. Or achievable, at least.
My arms hurt, so I'm gonna stop typing for now. But I'll be back!
ooh, new page!

See if there's some shinny hockey games going on at the rink. It makes you skate that much harder chasing the puck around, and since it's so much fun it makes time goes by a lot faster too. Just try not to go to hard for the first couple weeks, groin pulls really suck.Phantasee wrote:I was sick over the break, so I lost weight because of that, but I've also been spending time on the ice during free skates MWF. Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

Odd.......... I just looked up my old goals here....... I realised that I been hitting those goals.... over, and over, and over again as i continously relapsed after the exams.
Its the same thing now, I just hit my goal of losing flab and gaining in cardio endurance, but after the exams and the consequent stress that laid, I'm back to being totally out of shape and regaining that 1 kg.
Not to mention regaining the flab around my tummy........
Just out of interest, I note that Big Orange appears to be following the Sugar Buster diet. How does it feel like in terms of energy? I been reading claims that the low GI foods allows people to have a more sustained flow of energy throughout the day so that they don't feel so tired....

ORD just 3 years back. The odd thing was, despite exercising more frequently now than I did in the slack year after I ORD, I actually lost fitness and gained weight.............Fingolfin_Noldor wrote:

Hmm.. a dietary problem? Stress might actually cause people to gain weight for some reason.PainRack wrote:ORD just 3 years back. The odd thing was, despite exercising more frequently now than I did in the slack year after I ORD, I actually lost fitness and gained weight.............
ORD 3 years back? Hmmm... So did I actually.. in 2005.

One thing for certain is that I have developed a much larger appetite than what I have back home and I would have to cut back on it when I return for a holiday.

I have been miraculously staying at 180 pounds for the past several months despite a gain in eating snacks. Of course, I've been trying to moderate myself so that I don't eat like a thousand calories worth of candy in a day so hopefully I can keep my self-control in the green.
I wonder if I would've lost more if I stopped eating those snacks.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I just signed up to do the Herbal Magic plan. WW didn't work cause I hated going to a room filled with others even though I knew they all knew how I felt. Hopefully this works as I'll only have to deal with one person at a time.
I start the program tomorrow, wish me luck.
With dedication and no snacking etc... I'll be at my goal weight in a year.
Oh god I hope this works.

Good job with the 5.6 lbs Dalton! Don't lose heart, I gained a pound monday because I was eating to much protein. Cutting that back has led to more progress.Dalton wrote:I dropped 5.6 pounds on my first week of Weight Watchers.

Just ignore them, they're looking to hurt your feelings so if you don't let that happen they'll see that it doesn't work on you and move onto the next person. Just keep telling yourself that what they are saying is their opinion only and if you hate chavs so much then their opinion shouldn't matter to you.
