What's sad, is that I definately got the impression that Weaving at least was really trying his best with a fucking diabolically awful script.

There's a difference between being paid and being a professional, and it has to do with attitude.

I notice in the Constantine trailer that Reeves is going to get the Neo typecasting now it seems.

I wonder how fast Zion would have fallen if the squids went straight for the kill. I'm gambling 30 seconds to take out all the APU's, 2 minutes to clean out the tower and 5-10 minutes to kill all the hippies

Are you kidding. All the hippies were cornered in the Temple and it was the final defense. They would have killed everybody in far faster than 5 minutes.

They "went for the kill" all along, until the Neo deal. So I am assuming you are talking about the final defense in front of the Temple, when they stopped. By then all the APU's were dead.

How did they go for the kill? Their standard tactic seemed to be "fly in big circles while being shot at," only occassionally attempting an attack.

Matrix=teh p0wned

And rightfully so. SST was nominally entertaining, at points. Death scenes were cool, and the ridiculous tactics were hilarious.

Matrix, for some reason, when fucking up was INSULTING and not funny.

Matrix was much worse.

They went in for the kill for important shit, like APU's.

The squids went in for the kill at the temple.

They stopped right in front of the Temple right as Neo made the deal.

Obviously if Neo didn't make the deal everybody in the Temple would have been killed.

Stupid tactics does not mean they are not trying to kill. Klingons always try to kill, but they do it poorly.

Rewatch the scene (well, you really don't have to, its probably not worth it), 90% of the sentinels are just going in giant loops while occasionally a small branch would break off and attack an APU.

Hmmmmmm..... lets see.

Matrix Revolutions: Drawn-out death scenes, philosobabble (think Technobabble but with philosophy).

Dude- they didn't go for the kill against shit. The chamber was filled with thousands of them, and 90% of them simply flew around, doing nothing, while getting shot. They're easily the most useless enemy robots in the history of sci-fi. I mean, come on- hundreds of them "washed" over Crazy Screaming Mecha Dude and the APU wasn't even DAMAGED.

I wouldn't actually mind seeing Starship Troopers sometime, if there wasn't anything else to do. On the other hand, I have yet to hear an offer good enough to make me watch Matrix Revolutions/

I'm going to go with Revolutions. It followed the exact path I said it was going to take, and the one I said it should not have taken. At least SST had naked ass chicks in it. Boobs alone saved that film. It had some pretty cool action though.

Matrix. By FAR.

Starship troopers didn't take itself seriously. It was a fun popcorn flick, with a damn good soundtrack and not bad special effects.

Matrix seriously thought it was some kind of ultra deep movie experence. Which sucked monkey balls, but still thought it was the best damn thing since sliced bread.

Starship troopers I probably WOULD watch if I flipped the channel and it was on. Matrix....I would burn my TV and buy a new one.

Yeah, but you're a Matrix fanboy. That's made rather obvious by your attempts to lambast SST even though Matrix: Revolutions shares every one of its flaws and then adds a deadly, ponderous, pretentious sense of its own self-importance which the hilariously satirical SST does not suffer from.

As I am of the opinion that Revolutions didn't suck, I reply that SST was fully intent on raping Heinlein's name. Not good name, mind you. Some of his shit was just that: shit, but they were raping his name for money. I mean, it wasn't along the lines of FOX using U2's "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" for their "We've got the Super Bowl, so Nyah!" ads.

Since Heinlein was a raving jackass, I have trouble giving a shit. SST took Heinlein's fascist leanings and mercilessly lampooned them. It was exactly the treatment that his idea deserved.

Plus, Starship Troopers had Doogie Himmler tormenting his mother with a telepathically controlled ferret in it. That along gives Starship Troopers the edge.

Interesting. I'm a Matrix 'fanboy' because I felt another movie was more horrid than Revolutions? My hasn't the definition broadened.
