It's not really a fast-food place, but at Wawa's you can get hoagies and steaks and sandwiches and stuff, along with pretty much everything else you need.

Damn I miss Wawa.

actually the diner was invented in Worcester Massachusetts.
According to the diner museum anyway. We have a lot of them here too (RI).

There's a place in my hometown Roskilde called "The Sandwich Company" which make some rather expensive sandwiches which simply taste so good it can't be described.

There's a regional drive-in restaurant here called Tom & Jerry's (yes, their mascots are the cat & mouse duo). They have some damn good burgers, and they're chicken is pretty good, too. An eat-in restaurant called Sunrise Family Restaurant, of which I know two locations around here, takes the cake for best local burgers, though. Fun fact: Sunrise is located at the north end of town, on the east side of Highway 251. Directly across the street is a bar/liquor store called Sunset Liquor. Coincidence? I think not. :)

Panda Express is my favorite here. It's a fast-food Chinese place with incredibly good orange chicken. Kind of expensive, but a two-item orange chicken with a side of white rice . .. . :luv: (It's too bad we don't have a "drooling" emoticon)

Five Guys hamburgers.

Greasy, fattening but y'know...there are REAL hamburgers for about a buck, buck fifty more then McDonald's.

Wawa is quality. And you can get gas there 20 cents cheaper than anywhere else, and cigarettes at the state minimum.

Sonic. I know they have em here in Florida and parts of Texas, I'm not sure where else. Drive-in style joint. They have the best drinks. PERIOD. Milkshakes are made with real fruit and milk. You want vanilla flavor added to Dr.Pepper? No problem. Green apple to sprite? Just ask. When my girl was pregnant we went there once every couple of days for floats made from any soda, strawberry milkshake made with real chunks of strawberry, or a shake made with reese's pieces. There burgers and sandwiches made from texas toast are pretty damn good too. It's the only fast food place I regular go to anymore.

jack in the box oh it is the best since starting at the university of tampa i have been deprived of it and i recently had my wisdom teeth pulled so i cant eat such foods. But i remember all through senior year of high school Alyerium, Lost Profett and another friend of ours would stay at my place on friday nights and play D&D watch bad movies and then at three am leave the house to go get bacon ultimate cheese burgers. we were convinced one saturday morning my mom would come in and find us all dead of massive heart attacks because of our greasy food binges. damn now I really really want one.

however on the east coast I have to say I love hardy's and popeyes fryed chicken cource AZ recently got popeyes but its way out from where I live.
All I want is a kind word, a warm bed, and unlimited power.

For hamburger chanin MAX has all others beat.

But I prefer a Kebab as fastfood.

Or perhaps a "Tunnbrödsrulle" that is aflat thin bread with mashed potato and some sausuges all rolled up in the bread.

No clue how widespread they are, but a Checkers bacon cheeseburger is the best damn fast food I've ever had this side of Pizza.

The south has Waffle House, Chickfila, and Taco Mac. Probably a few others too that I'm not thinking of. The three of those is a bit of competition for In&Out :)

There's a Cluck U! in Gainesville, FL. Not sure if it's part of the same chain where you are located. But, if it is, I guess it wouldn't be regional. :?

A&W All American Food, a largely western phenomenon. I only wish they had them here.

There are A&Ws with semi-truck parking in Heber California, Texas Canyon Arizona, Amarillo Texas, Quartzite Arizona, Buckeye Arizona... no wait, they replaced that with an Arbys... bastards, Lordsburg New Mexico, Santa Maria New Mexico...

Well, you get the idea.

Other than that, most of the places I've discovered across the country were strictly one or two-shop places. One good one that's mostly in Texas and Oklahoma is Braum's, which does excellent burgers and ice cream.

Lick's is a southern Ontario regional burger joint, with perhaps a dozen locations sprinkled in and around Toronto. It serves the Homeburger, which is, in my humble opinion, the finest hamburger I've ever eaten. It is somewhat expensive by fast food standards, but the Homeburger with cheese is a thing to behold.

They have them in Okinawa too, and not just in or around the military bases. I don't know about the American variant, but in the Japanese ones you have to wait a while for your food, like a somewhat crappier version of Ruby's, of which there are two in Pennsylvania and like five in California, for reasons I cannot fathom.
