The original cartoon "how the grinch..." There is nothing quite so perfectly christmas as listening to Seusses fucked up rhymes and world while still getting that warm feeling in your heart.

I want to say "It's a wonderful life" because it's Lister's favourite film, but I've never actually watched it.

Given that, Bill Murray is t3h win. Scrooged, kickass film by all respects, as is Die Hard, which I'm going to watch later. "Now I have a machinegun. Ho ho ho."

A choice between It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas story.

I like them both equally and will watch them both on the 25th.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the original.

Although I finally saw the JimCarey version... it wasn't bad, just over the top in places. At least they kept a lot of the original dialogue in a few key scenes.

I've only seen Miracle on 34th Street out of any of those, but I really enjoyed it - ultimate christmas eve viewing would probably be that and that version of a Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart as Scrooge. Richard Attenborough is my god, and if anyone was going to come down my chimney, I'd want it to be him.

Note that I manfully resisted the urge to make cheap innuendo there. That's how christmassy I'm feeling right now.

Which one —the 1938 version with Reginald Owen or the 1956 version with Alistair Sim?

Thirded, but since it's not on there I voted for Grinch. The cartoon, of course.

What? No love for Santa Claus Conquers the Martians? I mean, it had all the makings of a terrific Christmas movie from the jolly Santa to the goofy bad guys and those adorable children. Sure it has its flaws, but what other classic science-fiction Christmas movies exist outside of the realm of "Data's First Christmas" =D

Hooray for Santy Claus! (Cha cha chah!)

The 1951 with Alistair Sim. It's on every December 24th on CTV, and it is by far my favourite version.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I love that movie. It NEVER gets old. 9 years watching it in a row, and I'm still laughing each time.
