Russian comedians, satirists, etc

I'm sure that there must be some, but whenever I read Russian books, or watch Russian movies, I get the impression of some claustrophobic hut in the wilderness surrounded by howling snow and wind. It's so depressing and insanely psychological. Now in fairness I get a similar feeling when I read quite a few Norwegian authors, in truth depression and tragedy is quite common there. So no offence to you russkies.

Still, there must be some, but where are they? Note I don't mean modern comedians, I mean writers whose output could be described as literature. The older the better.
