Depends on how much tech they could replicate. Take a modern US Navy task force (To account for the presence of the strike legion, toss an MAU into this scenario while you're at it) and dump them in the Amazon, which is essentially the equivalent of what landing the in the Periphery would be. They would have a large initial tech advantage, and they would know what was technologically possible, but their ability to recreate it would be drastically limited.Typhonis 1 wrote:If the Legions are smart they will conquer a Periphery stae, no innner spehere or clan power would notice, and start to set up n industrial base.
Hell Grav tech gives them a nasty advantage in itself if they are forced to use local weapons.
Then once the infrastructure is up they can start to expand.
For a good exploration of just that sort of scenario, check out Pournelle's Warworld series, where first one and then another naval vessel lands on a bass-ackwards regressive world... their tech advantage gives them a large advantage, but eventually they're down from future sci-fi weapons to old-style assault rifles (on one side) and black powder weapons on the other.
