Well, it's not a very impressive entrance to barge into a building as a walkman and a handgun, is it? The 50-foot robot crashing through the wall is a much more dramatic entrance.

Yeah, but it's not so much that a little tweaking should be able to cover any of that Sci-fi look.Galvatron wrote:Oh, me too. The problem is, Hot Rod has that sci-fi look.ZShade wrote:I dunno about having Bumblebee as a hero. I can see why it'd be done, but I'd rather have Hot Rod as the 'new kid who becomes the hero.'

You just reminded me of a Far Side strip where stagecoach drivers get held up by three bunnies wielding guns and one says to the other 'this isn't gonna look good on our resumes'.Darth Wong wrote:Well, it's not a very impressive entrance to barge into a building as a walkman and a handgun, is it? Same scenario with a handgun and walkman -- I agree, the robots are better for drama.

Maybe, but Soundwave could infiltrate into places while in player mode and then suddenly transform and pop up as if from nowhere. That was used quite well in both the cartoon and comic several times.Darth Wong wrote:Well, it's not a very impressive entrance to barge into a building as a walkman and a handgun, is it? Hell, Soundwave and Megatron got into the base with Torg III by stashing Megs in a guitar case...

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

By the way, Mike, most Transformers of Optimus, Megatron, and Soundwave's size are actually about 25 feet tall, not 50.
Yeah, they're big, but not that big...

I was trying to make it easier for you poor saps to read what I'm typing, but if you want it to be harder, fine.Galvatron wrote:Maybe they could make him a souped-up, cherried out and highly modified muscle car. BTW, you forgot to italicize...

Exactly, they can get away with Hot Rod, who is a cool character. Though I personally think they'd need Kup in there too then, and he'd have to definately be changed up.

Three things ...
(1) If they're not going to use mass conversion, what alternative mode are they going to give Soundwave and his mates? (Rumble, Ravage, Laserbeak, et al)
(2) Which Writer/Director would you like to tackle this?
(3) Would you like to see a mix of live action/CGI or totally CGI? (Final Fantasy)

Since it's already going to be a live action/CGI film, I don't think our choices would matter much.Adrian Tullberg wrote:(3) Would you like to see a mix of live action/CGI or totally CGI? (Final Fantasy)

Stop living in the past, man. THye don't need to have characters do that anymore. Blame Hasbro (of Gig) for a bad choice enemies.Galvatron wrote: Boo! Unless they have some other ingenious alternative, I don't see how they can avoid it.
I always thought it would be cool for him to turn into a news van.Boo! Soundwave is the Decepticon Communicator. What else can he turn into?
Blame the police for shooting kids armed with toy guns. Blame Hasbro for never putting the appropriate orange barrel on toy guns.Boo! I blame the soccer moms.
I guess you're happy to hear that Grimlock is being reborn as a Ford Mustang.Hoo-fucking-ray!!!! That shit never belonged in the first place, IMO.

Now that will never happen.Old Plympto wrote:What'd be funny if that one of the non-core characters of this movie was Jetfire and like his toy, he transforms into a Macross / Robotech Veritech fighter, complete with the RDF / UN Spacy emblems.
Heck DW basically has remade Jetfire into his Skyfire format...though they did include most of VF-1S design in his *space* armor.

It would be worth it. Jetfire was clearly the coolest toy in the entire range.VF5SS wrote:And watch as Harmony Gold and Big West finally unite to sue Hasbro =pOld Plympto wrote:What'd be funny if that one of the non-core characters of this movie was Jetfire and like his toy, he transforms into a Macross / Robotech Veritech fighter, complete with the RDF / UN Spacy emblems.
Though they could get away with the 2002 Jetfire, as he's a Space Shuttle now, not a VF-1.

Which is a testament to the craftsmanship of the original Takatoku Kahen Henkei 1/55th scale toy. The old molds from which Jetfire was created a long gone. The Bandai re-issues are reconstructions and are not even completely accurate reproductions.Vendetta wrote:

You're joking... right? They CANNOT turn Grimlock into a Mustang. I don't care how much the fans want him in the movie you CANNOT turn Grimlock into a Ford Mustang.VF5SS wrote:I guess you're happy to hear that Grimlock is being reborn as a Ford Mustang.
