Oh, right. So in other words, because I didn't whore myself out in pictures, I lose by default. That's what you're saying. I just wanted to make sure I got it.

This is why I didn't really care going into this.

Regardless how you intended it, I don't doubt it for a second that many will be swayed for the same reason. It causes annoyance.

It's not that difficult to adjust to high temperatures. It was 44 degrees C in Las Vegas when I was there, and I wasn't having any more trouble dealing with it than anybody else I could see. People from warm-weather climates have much more trouble adjusting to cold weather. You can take a Canadian and stick him in 44 degree temperatures and he'll be OK as long as he has water (which the locals need too), but take somebody from a warm-weather country, stick him in temperatures 20 degrees below freezing with a high wind, and watch him beg for mercy.

Dude, Celsius sucks

Yeah it was a good 110 degees F ( ~43 C) when I was there. 90 F during the night with rain. I was drinking a lot so I handled the heat pretty well. When I mean drinking, I meant it both ways. What did suck, was running from the Ballagio to New York New York buy some souveniers ( I had to get something from Coyote Ugly before we left) and back around noonish. It's a lot farther than it looks.

And back on topic: Jmac, Muse..... uber hotness. Then again, that's not so unusual. I know this has been mentioned, but for a board whose namesake is based off of a sci-fi warship, we have a lot of cute girls here.

I've been to New Mexico & Arizona and it's not that bad at all since it's so dry. In Toronto we have all the moisture coming off the lake so it's a lot more humid not to mention the smog & pollution drifting over the lake from our southern neighbours.

I'll take 110 degrees in the desert over 90 in New Jersey any damn day of the week. You can SEE the humidity, and the hydrocarbon fumes don't help. I've seen cold weather people actively wish for sweet, sweet death around here in July.

try 110 degrees in las vegas. combined with the smog and relative lack of plant life, that city's a virtual oven in summer.

Try the high 90's and god forbid 100's here in NYC, CHRIST I have literally dehydrated from sweating while walking around my office building at lunch time and need to chug a full bottle of Poland Spring before I feel any where near decent as soon as I get back in the sweet sweet air conditioned building. (Did the guy who invented A/C get the Nobel prize because he should have,) It feels like the air is a thick frothy soup and you're trying to walk through it.

We've had one of the coolest summers in the city in decades and all I can say is thank God!

Oh puh-lease, I've been in Las Vegas when the temperature was above 110, and it didn't have that awful "sticky swamp crawling up your back while bugs swarm your fucking head" feeling, so it wasn't that bad. And there's no appreciable smog in Las Vegas. Not enough people and industry.

course, it was a number of years ago when i visited. not being used to such hot environments probably had something to do with it at the time.

Then I wonder how bad it gets in a place like LA or Mexico City (IIRC) where the pollution is madness and the towns are close to the equator.

In the Bass Luhrman's Romeo & Juliet DVD commentary, many members of the crew and actors had to go on bedrest and medication for a few days after filming the gas station scene in Mexico city because it was on a busy stretch of road and the combination of pollution and heat made the folks there sick.
