They take her places she wants to be. Even for spoiled celebrities, a car = freedom. Jail, quite the opposite.

OJ Simpson avoided real justice and ditto for Michael Jackson.
As much I STRONGLY suspect Michael Jackson, I refuse to judge him without knowing for certain. They never presented any incontrovertible evidence that he was guilty.
I find it extremely unlikely that someone that focused his adult life around being with children, especially going as far as sleeping with them in the same bed and what have you is truly being platonic because it just doesn't seem consistent with human behaviour, but on the other hand he is ultra weird...

Still until there is something concrete and inarguable brought forth I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It's a terrible thing to judge people without definitive proof.
You have to realize that most Christian "moral values" behaviour is not really about "protecting" anyone; it's about their desire to send a continual stream of messages of condemnation towards people whose existence offends them. - Darth Wong alias Mike Wong

I still personally think that her spokesperson is just bullshitting us and she's still a gibbering, hysterical, pill-popping loon.

Well, no crap.

-_- Famous pampered princess heiresses like Hilton don't change overnight, they just put up an act of change to keep their popularity and situations as good as possible.

=p Too bad her act is still going to give her a month in the slammer.

People don't do things without a reason. What's her motivation to change? I can see that being in jail would be such a shock to the bitchs view of reality that she'd never want to repeat the experiance but she knows she's getting out in 45 days and can go back to doing whatever she wants after that. She has no motivation to change other than altering her behaviour to include not drinking and driving. And with her money she can just get a driver.

If she's claustrophobic then how can she stand to be in cars? Which are much smaller than jail cells typically.

in regards to the seizure of the vehical, I believe US customs already does this. My friend's vehical was seized when going to the usa over a butt, he was not allowed to buy the vehicle back either (and there was no intoxication of the driver involved either).

If you loan your vehicle to some one who is already drunk you get charged in addition to the drunk driver. However I don't see a problem with launching a civil suit against the drunk to recover costs of the vehicle.

Jail doesn't deter drunks from driving, neither do fines nor suspending/revoking their license to drive, removing their access to a vehicle would change that, and lowers the odds of them having a future accident. it's no different then removing some ones gun who is using it improperly.
May you live in interesting times.

The claims of an intent to change are unsurprising to me. To be honest, they remind me of a desperate kid trying to bargain his way out of time out. =/

They remind me of half of the jackasses who get sent to prison. The other half are all insisting they really are innocent.

OK, so maybe those aren't the actual proportions but you get my point.

Found a good clip on YouTube, someone thought it would be good to get Tommy Chong's position on this:

I like his conspiracy theory that the media coverage of the Hilton BS is done by the republicans and done to keep everyone from looking at the political landscape...

I'm more inclined to think the current Paris coverage has to do with the fact that people really, really wanted to see her get slammed over this bullshit.

According to an interview on the Cobert Report, he was just shooting the shit and didn't realize they were on air.

I'm claustrophobic myself. (Thank you large overweight redneck cosins for stuffing me into a sleeping bag and sitting on it leaving me trapped for 30 minutes at a go...)

There's something about being able to get out whenever you want that keeps claustrophobia from setting in.

I'm suuuure that a normal, non-famous, non-filthy-rich person could claim "claustrophobia" and instantly get people saying he or she should be released, right? Oh wait, that won't happen. Fuck Paris Hilton, and fuck her lawyers and publicists too. If jail was pleasant, it wouldn't be used as a punishment.

Good news. Her "condition" has "improved", so she's back in the normal jail cell as of today.

Sorry for the double post, but I just got an email here. It says that one of the bigshot producers for The Simple Life is allowing people to send support cards to their biggest moneymaker, but they may lose their jobs for anything unsupportive. One example he gave was "Orange is your color!"

I've recently seen a news report where Hilton's parents were acting in a snobbish manner by pushing ahead in a queue past the normal "plebs" to visit their pampered daughter - well the spoilt, dickish behaviour must've come from somewhere... :?

Not that I have any respect for Paris, or her parents, but how is pushing ahead of people to see your own daughter "snobbish"? I'd expect any parent to do the same thing for their daughter or son.

Does it appear that it escapes me, or are you unable to read well? I specifically said "pushing ahead of people" which means I do understand the concept of a queue. My question to you, asshole, is how is it snobbish for family to be given higher priority? Nevermind, that the majority of people would probably want to see their parents more than some fan who they don't know.

The queue was composed of people who wanted to see their own relatives, not Paris Hilton.
