To be blunt, when that technology is realized, expect continued service for amputees to be the norm, since they can be retained with very little physical limitations.

It seems odd to note this would highlight the status of mental casualties even more. It seems PTSD trumps a lost arm with an intact elbow or knee joint since technology is bridging that gap.

kheegster's right though, does no one remember some of the exactly lines that guy said in Starship Troopers? That legless, robotic armed recruiter?
