You know, I can't really explain why this horrifies me more than most other crazy stories we see here but when I read this, it makes me want to throw up. Putting a baby in a microwave? In A MICROWAVE?! Is the child going to have trouble having normal kids after this (assuming she gets to be anywhere near normal herself)?

Oh Jesus, is that an issue too? I thought the damage would mostly because by her blood boiling and the subsequent destruction of the arteries/veins.

Fortunately this is unlikely. Microwaves are non-ionising radiation, they aren't high enough energy to break molecular bonds directly, they just heat up anything with a dipole (liquid water mostly - I don't think DNA is significantly polar). Enough heat will cook DNA, but I'd expect the baby to be dead long before that.

yes, any amount of heat that would denature the DNA would have already denatured all the protein in the area. DNA is a fairly robust compound and even after an arson around a dead body, there is often enough DNA to identify the body.

I don't think the kid was in the microwave long enough to suffer the destruction of his/her vascular system. Man, what the fuck must that feel like, boiling from the inside out? Makes me shudder.

Perhaps it's fortunate that the poor child is far too young to remember coherently, but a parent who murders their children is the rare type of person who inspires genuine rage and unconditional contempt from me. It is a mean, petty and pointless kind of evil.

No, once they start smoking, the absence of nicotine is what cause the immediate and profound changes due to it being hideously addictive. Nicotine is what then provides the status quo.
