Board is responding slowly, but I'm still getting through.

Would there be any problems if I switch my email to Gmail? I haven't gotten any spam through my Comcast accounts, so I'm wondering if they've implemented some draconian filter that killing notifications.

It took me a while to figure out what was causing this, but I've got it tracked down now. The board is now re-indexing its search tables since Jan 26, when the nightly search indexing stopped working. It's got about thirty thousand posts to chew through, so it will take a bit of time, but it should be done within the hour.

You'll have to compare notes with other users about notifications. I don't use them myself so I really can't comment.

Yeah, I tried both ways. After a few hours the problem must have gone away on its own as I was able to upload a new AV from my HD just fine.

I've been getting frequent timeouts accessing the board. It's definitely not due to something on my end. I hope it doesn't mean Google's trying to suck out our bandwidth again...

I got a few more notifications today. I've got a whacked out setting or cookie or something (which somehow survived my user data purges).

Edit: Everything appears to working again!

The search function is messed up. For example, here is what I got after searching "alpha":
Could not insert search results

For me, threads are no longer registering as having been viewed, so the little "new posts!" notification doesn't go away when I look at a thread.

Anyone else having this problem?
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

I am, I am also experiencing the no avatar DEBUG error that Coffee was having, and like him, uploading from my HD failed. Unlike him, it is not going away.

Simple mode problem.

Post by The Duchess of Zeon »

The forum is going to simple, stripped-down mode each time I click on an individual board; only the main forum screen correctly displays in normal mode, and each time I switch back to normal view, moving to another section of the forums brings it back to simple mode.

Same problem here. Every topic is all low-bandwidthy and I can't make it go away! The white hurts my eyes!

It's reverted back to normal for me, for no apparent reason.

I'm still trying to figure out if this problem is on my end or the board's, but logging in doesn't work for me anymore. When I hit submit, it just goes back to the main board page without logging me in. I'm typing this in Opera (I think it's still logged in with "remember me"), but the problem exists in FF and IE on Windows and FF on Ubuntu.

First instinct is cookies or javascript, but a definitive answer from someone higher up would be good.

Clearing the cookie worked on Ubuntu's FF. Still, weird...

DPDP and Utsanomiko can't log in either.

I seem to be okay because I have my login set to "remember me" in FF.

I had the same problem where I couldn't login, attempting to do so just brought me either back to the login screen (no error) or took me to the forum front page, but not logged in.

Clearing all my browsers private data (including cookies) fixed it.

I had the same problem. Seemed to work fine after I closed and re-opened the browser.

It looks like if I click the link in my notification emails, I'm logged out and I can't log back in until I close and re-open browser, and then get into the board from the main page.

I simply deleted my bbs.stardestroyer.net cookie and that cleared me up. I suspected it had something to do with cookies in the way the logins seemed to be successful but kept reverting to unlogged status.
