A planet that is nothing but one constant world wide tank battle, using tanks from all nations at all points of history, this has so got to be a Micronation now.
AGREED! It can also serve as a place for races to come together, in peace, harmony, and a shared love of blowing the crap outta things with TANKS!

Authority Shield worlds tend to be more or less convential war though, not just tanks.

And certianly nothing like the World of Tanks would be!

But yes the concept is a similar one.
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

Planet Tankhalla is permitted. Maybe we can place it near the Viking stars.

There was a degree of misogyny implied in the usage of the term "anti-Amazon," which I may have read into largely by virtue of me being sleep-deprived at the time of reading it. Now that I've had some sleep, I now realize that Crossroads, in all likelihood, did not intend for that. My apologies. (Besides, in the actual show, it's pretty much implied that Homura's either bisexual or an outright lesbian, but that's neither here nor there...)

In any case, in the event these anti-Amazons choose to wage war on the Holy Empire, Homura and (to a lesser degree) Kyoko would be the two Puellae Magi most in favor of retaliating with overwhelming force. The main difference in their approaches would be that Kyoko would prefer to smash the yaoi drones up close by personally leading several all-female Marine divisions in a planetary landing, while Homura would rather saturate-bomb the place with Tiberium rubiconium and start selling mining rights to the zaibatsu once the smoke clears.

Ah. Well, I gave this matter some thought in SDNW4, and the "anti-Amazon" seems logically to mean something more like "if one of these came into contact with an Amazon, both would spontaneously vanish in a particle-antiparticle reaction."

[modhat on]

Also, jeez, give the liquid rubiconium a break, okay? Your fixation on weapon systems is a bit... unbecoming, in that you're talking about this stuff more often than Shep and fusion bombs.

If that idea for an entire planet dedicated to tank battles for sport and entertainment actually becomes a thing, it may help exorcise those weapons systems demons from my head. I also approve of Rabid's idea for an esper exchange program between the Nation, the League of Thought, and the Holy Empire; just need to see if White Haven will sign off on it as well before proceeding. At least that particular idea would give me something else to write about other than hypothetical scenarios where Homura proposes nuking everyone who looks at her wrong and Kyoko proposes costly planetary invasions while the other Puellae Magi shake their heads in disappointment...

Teams of mercenaries drive obsolete tanks to compete for fabulous cash prizes! Bring the kids! Half your admission price refunded if you are killed by a piece of flying debris or errant shell!

That, and Pay-Per-View, of course.

I too support Tankhalla...hmm...yeah, it can be next to the SPACE VIKINGS. Maybe they run it, who knows. Just keep an eye out for your friendly neighborhood terrorists  (Seriously, Arcadia First practically runs the SPACE VIKINGS territory, Space Beowulf to the contrary).

Also, Arcadia looks worriedly on that exchange program since we lack any Psykers of our own.

Question:

Why do we all say "psykers" these days? I'm not that big a Warhammer 40000 fan...

Well, I usually use "psychics" or "espers" when not speaking specifically about Warhammer 40000.

Psyker, psion, psychics, esper, magician...

That's the same idea of "people doing extra-normal things", I just find that "psyker" roll better when say write it.

Do people have other synonyms ?

"A wizard did it, and he used magic." I actually took the use of esper as a largely neutral term, and psyker as somewhat derogatory; I personally plan to have some people straight up call it magic, even if they can explain exactly what's going on: Niven's Corollary to Clarke's Law might be in effect, but that doesn't dictate language. Different effects and ways of doing things may be described with entirely different terminology as well, creating a muddled tangle of ideas, as is usual in the Volscian Confederacy.

[Friend/partner/associate] non-hive creatures! From our [honey/electronic nectar] transfer vessels and from your own, we have heard much about your [attritonal/expansional/influential] non-collectively beneficial actions. As such, Bees feel that tensional difficulties may cause untoward loss of world-nectar and other units of transfer between your influenced spheres. [World/hive cluster] designate Gavotte has volunteered to provide storage for your sphere's world-nectars and other material units of transfer, from digital combs to paper units.

Bees can offer many valued means of security for your quantities of nectar, from digital comb security to physical defences based on the inability of large non-hexapedal creatures to operate the desired control systems and of course fit within said [secured/defended] areas. Furthermore, world-nectar will be stored within a [hive/city] of many billions of sting-equipped workers who will be glad to prevent [hostile/aggressor] entities from their attempts to [invade/defile] hive structures and the acquisition of [friend/partner/associate] world-nectar.

Yeah just to make things a bit more clear, since I was a bit out of it too last night I should have said "reverse" amazon... Since the stereotype of Amazon is all female society... I was thinking of all male all gay society.. Yeah as said it would have been terribly shallow and one dimensional :P

Of course the concept of "true" anit-amazon, where the meet in mutual annihilation, that made me "lol"

Umeria will make no such ads, as it has no private banking sector and no particular interest in other people's bank accounts. Most of the government views finance as a convenient fiction invented to make the physical economy run smoothly.

This helps to explain why the fringe sectors are so underdeveloped...
