Got to be the Minbari in space. Sharlins are just awesome. Beautifully designed ship, and it appears to be reasonably functional. Frankly, it looks like a work of art, more than a warship.

On the ground, though, I think it's the Vorlons. Not only are their encounter suits UNBELIEVABLY cool, but their angelic forms added tremendous depth to the story. I was very pleased to see, at that point, that I was not going to be disappointed with the plot of the show I had watched for so long. The Shadows are a close second in both categories.

The Gorn and the Pakmara are pretty cool, too, but I still have to give it to the Minbari, Vorlons, and Shadows.

Aren't the Gorn those little insects that repelled the Narn? I could be wrong and thinking of someone else. If you have their real name, please tell me. They're not very important, but I think they're cool.

There will never be a resolution in the evolution vs creationism debate because neither side can conclusively prove that they are right. The creationists can't prove that they're right becuase they're not, and the evolutionists can't prove that they're right because the creationists are too damn stupid to listen.

I think the Narns are cool due to their cool ship designs, but so again are the Omega Destroyers too.

Minbari. Granted they were about as smart as sawdust and the most adept example of their species could barely find her way out of a wet paper bag without help, but in a lot of ways they were better developed (story wise) than the other races. Even though they were a theocracy run by inept lunatics they were a much more sympathetic civilization than the likes of EA, the Centauri, or the Narn as they had figured out how to live in a relatively civilized way without slavery, internal repression (mostly), or expansionism.

Shadows.

How you could you not like a culture that sees strife as the mechanism to new potential?
We deal with it here every fucking day in our real lives. Whether it is war or as difficult as aids, conflict fuels the human race. This is why ST is so wrong with the socialistic/communistic concept. Stupid liberal writers are shit!!! Fuck, all our best are concentrated around times of strugle. Why argue with the reality that the Shadows rep???

Conflict/reaction/turmoil are the key. Oh, lets not forget the words of an American founding father:

I agree that conflict has spurred civilization along in the past. And I totally agree that conflict makes for good drama in any setting. That is why I prefer Star Wars and B5 to Star Trek, and why a well meaning little fluffbunny like Paul Hogan's "Almost an Angel" will always end up as a midnight snack for a well-groomed predator such as "Goodfellas".

However, there is a line that I am going to use in my novel series, one that becomes the philosophy of the entire series:

"It's wonderful to live in interesting times, so long as nothing interesting happens to you."

Reflect on this for a moment.

My series will not be Star Trek-style PC preaching, but a darker and more intense condemnation of extremism in all its forms, and an honest look at how people react to catastrophe and escalating conflict.

That's the intention anyway. :?

I voted for the Vorlons. Such elegant and powerful manipulators. I admire the Shadows for similar reasons. The Thirdspace Aliens deserve a nod, for anything that makes the Vorlons mess their encounter suits has won my respect automatically. And apparently, the Walkers of Sigma 957 progressed more quickly than the Shadows and Vorlons, despite being slightly younger than the Shadows (I read about this from 2nd hand discussions on the Agents of Gaming handbook).

My favourite younger race? Minbari, I guess.

Yeah, I'm a power freak. :P

minbari and EA

Post by starfury »

I like the minbari and EA as they have the largest ships used by the YR, the omega/warlock class destoryers are battleship-grey and very mencing and the sharlin as stated before very beautiful plus the nial and starfury has a slight similarity to the beautiful imperial tie interceptor.

Shadows.

And on the topic of the Walkers, not only did they progress faster than the Shadows and Vorlons, they have never once stagnated. They have been constantly advancing throughout all their millions of years.
