Wild Palms

Post by FaxModem1 »

So, a couple years ago, I stumbled upon a rather odd miniseries, it was called Wild Palms. Taking place in the far future year of 2007, Harry is a patent lawyer who is drawn into some sort of secret war between two secret societies, the Fathers and the Friends, while the new technology of holographic television is becoming a reality. If done well, this could be an interesting miniseries, instead it's a six hour deluge of scenes that are artsy for the sake of being artsy, trying to present wild images, a rip on Scientology, and a cast and crew with heads so far up their own asses they think they're making art, instead of incomprehensible bullshit.

I'm rewatching it now, and it still is as silly as I remember.

Here's the trailer, to give you a taste of what it's like:

If you want to watch the series, here's a link to the first episode.

Has anyone ever seen this, and if so, what are your thoughts on this 'bold miniseries'?
