Let me show them to you.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl came out today. It's been years and years since I played a Pokemon game, but I just can't pass up wifi trading and battling with voice chat. Anyone else here get it? I'm gonna get a wifi dongle soon, so we could trade friend codes.

Got the Japanese version of Diamond back on release, months back. While I'm not really into the online battling side of things, I'd be happy to share friend codes and trade. There's full inter-operability between the versions, and you get additions to your Pokédex when you trade with people who have other language versions and/or Pokémon.

It's a pity though that you can only form teams with people who you've traded with via local wi-fi, rather than anyone on your friends list.

I expect he's playing a Japanese import copy, same as I am. Unless he meant to say Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald?

I'd be surprised if Europe is getting their versions in July though, given that Australia usually gets stuff first, and we get it in October.

LOoks like the GBA - DS trading is disabled until post Final Four.

Damn it, there goes my plan of playing through the game with an all bird team.

It would break the game to get your old Third Generation Pokemon before then. The Friend Park isn't a normal trade. It's a direct, one-way transfer. Since you re-catch your old Pokemon, they're not considered outsiders and you can control them regardless of what badges you have.

What, would you rather be able to start the game with a Lv. 100 Rayquaza?

Accually I was planning on adding them to my team when their minimum level was equal to what my team was running at(I was hopping to start with a Puplip, Torchic, and Starly, add a Skarmony and a Natu later, maybe at one point replace the Starly with a Dodrio. And to round the team out I was considering a Mukrow or maybe another Ruby/Saph/Emr or new bird pokemon.

I've played through and beaten R/B about 25 times, G/S about 4 or 5, LG/RF twice, tried R/S/E twice and couldn't stand that shit. I long ago abandoned any cheap teams, I pass on all the legendaries after my first few times through R/B because they made the game too easy, so I never intended to add pokemon far beyond my teams level. But I understand why they made it as such.

It's going to be forever before I'll be ready for competitive battling. I absolutely crawl through Pokemon games. I catch everything I can as soon as I can and I keep everything at the same level. I never did have a core six I relied on 100% of the time. Not in any game.
