I for one still don't get what's supposed to be fun about shuttle missions :D But maybe a real group mission is different.

Or 2 tricos with Spread 1. Shuttlecraft can really be quite amusing if properly equipped. :D

Welp, my fleet has given up on STO -- they interpret the replacement of the front-page Calendar with a Foundry Focus while a fan does his own calendar posts as Cryptic releasing itself from "having to" adhere to any promised schedule (read: allowing themselves to miss deadlines by hiding them), and the focus on ships, the lockbox and the new events as just signs of Cryptic being money-grubbing, scummy*, or just out of ideas when it comes to new endgame story content.

A shame, as right when one of them was predicting STO's death, I'd been talked into wanting to shell out money for the MVAE -- apparently the MVAE console makes the AE even more worthwhile than the cloaking Defiant retrofit -- and had even thought of picking up the new Caitian carrier... yes, the Fed "furryship" is finally here, for US$25 you can have a space whale that completely blows the Nebula retrofit out of the water!

* They particularly loath Gozer in particular for how STFs are all that there is for endgame, as if to "hide" the lack of new endgame story content.

I really don't understand what they're talking about here.

The lockbox stuff is irritating but trivially easy to ignore, the ships you can buy are good but they're not necessary at all (I bought all the ships I got for the vanity I suppose), and I don't have a problem with any of the events. The calendar point is just a wtf reaction from me.

I have the Defiant with cloak and I wuv it so. :3 The Prometheus has always looked like dogshit to me so to each his own, but timmy has been playing with it and can probably tell you how awesome it is.

I was toying with the idea of getting the Nebula retrofit for my sci alt, but honestly I don't know how much I'd like it considering I don't find the Nebula aesthetically pleasing. The Lt.Commdr eng boff slot is the only thing that's drawing me to it, because I have a borg boff for her. But it seems to me stupid to spend $20 to buy a ship I'd only ever use once just so that my sci alt's borg boff get's an extra skill to play with, when the Luna looks a lot nicer to me anyway.

Incidentally guys if you replay any of the featured series you get the original reward that came with them again.

Sci is in a bit of a sorry state right now anyways, my sci captain is in an MVAE because I didn't have too much fun with all the sci skills. I'd wait with buying sci ships right now, I wish I hadn't shelled out for the Intrepid retrofit myself.

Anyways, the MVAE is really cool. It has nice alternative models, you can build a sweet hotrod escort using the other nacelle and saucer models. The original Prometheus I don't like that much either. I'll have to upload some screenshots later because my U.S.S. Shooter Jennings is the coolest kitbash I've done so far, at least IMO :D

The episode rerun is nice, I'll see if I find the time to get the unique BOFFs for all my toons... but I'm not too crazy about them, since you can't even put Starfleet badges on them - zero customizability. Pretty lame.

Yeah I am not terribly interested in having a reman boff, though I do like the idea of having a breen, at least in theory.

As for the Prometheus, I am fond of referring to it as a flying garden trowel. :D

Aw cool, someone else calls the Prometheus a flying garden trowel! But it's a cool little flying garden trowel, ain't it?

FYI if you use the Ophidian Cane in that spectral field whatzit you get from an earlier mission, it changes into a serpent cane or something like that IIRC.

Note for anyone trying to get the Reman Bridge Officer before (the end of?) Wednesday -- he's a science bridge officer, and it's actually "Cutting the Cord" that grants you him as a reward, not "Darkness Before the Dawn".
