Re: Q Makes A Pizza With Special Guests
I checked out John DeLancie's site. I didn't know he had so many acting credits under his belt and was so well traveled, not to mention his other accomplishments outside of acting. I'm kind of surprised that he didn't have a website of his own sooner, even 10 years ago it seemed like everybody in Ho...

Re: Time Lord Victorious story arc
But there are other issues at hand, and the Time Fracture as seen in the Time Lord Victorious experience planned for London next year seems to be changing continuity rather drastically. Because The Time War, the battle between the Time Lords and the Daleks that formed the backbone for the returning...

Re: The Mandalorian Discussion Thread (spoilers and such)
BTW: Still wondering how Mando knows their sign language/use-words that go with the sign language. This wasn't a huge point with me; I've seen a few westerns where the protagonist or a supporting character knows how to speak with some Indian tribe and they don't explain it. He just knows basically ...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 (Spoilers)
Actually, DSC is supposed to be before The Cage. No spoilers, but you'll see what I mean when you get to the episode which firmly establishes this. I think you're confusing between "the cage", and "the menagerie", that discovery episode clearly establishes disc is after the even...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 (Spoilers)
Season 2 was an improvement over season 1 in alot of ways, I hope you make it through to season 3.
For me, the highlight of Season 2 was Pike, Spock and Number One. They were so awesome in fact, that the next Trek series is a spinoff featuring all three. I can't wait.

Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 (Spoilers)
It's finally here! And the wait has been totally worth it. Michael talking herself at the beginning of the episode was really hammy; I get that she's a little off because of her Vulcan upbringing but I seem to recall other scenes where she's talked to herself and didn't come off so cheesy. I don't r...

ROFL The best parts of this opinion are where the judge pulls out quotes from Star Trek...for Abdin, that must feel like salt being rubbed in the wound.

Re: Star Trek Discovery gets sued over plagerism and other problems
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU0dBv6CNj8 Another bump for update...after Anas Abdin was shot down in district court, he filed an appeal in the 2nd circuit. The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals has dismissed Abdin's "Tardigrades" lawsuit against "Star Trek" owner CBS. Abdin had all...

I've always wanted to see that movie that Poe made, "Travissty" wasn't it? Did anyone manage to save that one before it was obliterated from the Internet?

Re: Implications About Rekall (Total Recall)
I am surprised the implications of ego trips were not more fully explored. This would be better explored in the form of a TV series. I'm pretty sure similar scenarios have been done before in other media; in one story I vaguely remember from somewhere, the users would jack into the VR world but it ...

Re: Conflict erupts at Minneapolis, L.A. protests over George Floyd death
Portland quickly turned into chaos again. During the daytime hours, Trump supporters backed by Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer staged a demonstration of their own; There's some footage of paintball guns being fired at BLM/Antifa along with fistfights breaking out, etc. but no extreme violence. However...

Good Jesus fucking Lord Almighty...I was over at Banned.Video (NSFW) to check out footage from the Kenosha Riots and I about lost my dinner seeing the close up of the guy who got his arm shot (3:20). They'll probably have to amputate; there is literally a gaping hole where his bicep should be. It's ...

[SCOTUS] Ruling: Title VII anti-discrimination law protects LGBT employees
Federal employment discrimination law protects gay and transgender employees Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits employment discrimination “because of sex.” By Amy Howe (originally published at Howe on the Court ) Today the Supreme Court, by a vote of 6-3, ruled that even if Congres...

Re: He Who Fights Monsters (Star Trek)
For me, the Wesley scene was a bit off-putting. I think the closest thing we ever saw in canon was Picard being tortured at the hands of Gul Madred, and even then it was more psychological than physical brutality. Maybe I could have dealt with his face being mutilated instead of [stuff]. The warning...

Re: Picard - general discussion [spoilers]
There was that "guy" living on a postage stamp lot with his recreated human wife on a devastated world that winked the aggressor species out of existence with a thought. I don't remember the episode. The Douwd from TNG: The Survivors. Arguably, you can throw onto the list Armus from Seaso...

Strangely enough, she starred in the 2005 film version of RENT, which depicts gays and transgender persons in a positive light. Not to mention her work with PFLAG; Dawson did a poster and public service ad campaign for PFLAG where she is featured with her uncle, Frank Jump.

Re: Picard - general discussion [spoilers]
Romulans and Vulcans have always been extremely distinct so it seems a bit of a stretch for a Romulan to pose as a Vulcan for decades. Everything about her behaviour says Vulcan. There was mention of physiology above too...I wanted to add that there was once a Romulan spy who posed as a Vulcan amba...

Re: A question about warp nacelles.
Found the Ferengi at warp. This is how the Ferengi react when Worf cooks up a "surprise" in the form of a Federation starship for the Ferengi in TNG "Peak Performance." There was no Q-Flash, the next shot cuts to Picard when they're gone.

Re: A question about warp nacelles.
The problem here is that I don't think we've ever seen many alien vessels go to warp speed in Berman Era Trek; most of the time they're slowly plodding along at impulse speeds if they're even moving. I tend to think that it's the first one you mentioned, from inside the nacelles. I do recall one ins...
