There is actually ONE occasion where that I remember, the Enterprise launching torpedoes at an object apparently sooo far away that it couldnt be seen, and the torpedoes vanished in the distance and exploded many seconds later, and hit (to no effect because it was a Q-thing but it still hit)? Oooh....
