It doesn't really match the outsiders story, as I recall, he retreats to beyond the edge of the galaxy or something.
I'm torn really between thinking its just a nameless horror C'tan who was essentially the big bad to be vanquished at the end of the book " A star god caught in his own inferno" i.e. his ship and presumably necrodermis do get wasted at the end of the book, and thinking its just a fluff violating entry of either the Dragon or the Outsider.
