also, when a blastershot hit the ground almost nothing happened (you would get a bigger hole by pushing your finger in it by sort of speak)

Maybe this could explain why there isn't much physical damage to the droids, yet they drop like flies with lots of nice buzzing sounds and switch-off-age.
