Modern LXG Take 2

Post by Majin Gojira »

Mission: Craft a Modern League of Extrodinary Gentelemen:

Creative Limits:
1. The League must consist from mostly 1 (2 if you get desperate for characters) forms of Media. IE: A League of only Book Characters. a League of TV Characters. A League of Movie Charactrers. A League of Comic-book characters. Etc.
2. Characters that have multiple incarnations in multiple media must use only the form of media that the majority of the group comes from (IE: a TV Group would only have access to the TV version of the Hulk, though the movie version could be specified if truely nessisary)
3. No characters may be seperated by more than 30 years MAXIMUM from their time of introduction (the time the league is gathered is variable).*
* Does not apply if Time Travel is available to one or more of the characters called in
4. In addition to a League, a threat of signifigant hieght can be added to spur the creation of the league. Something on the Global level would be nice.

Ready, GO!
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!

Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

League of Movie Characters:

The Boondock Saints (including Il Duce)
El Mariachi
The Bride
Tyler Durden
Gabriel Shear (Swordfish)
Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction)

An extremely powerful organized crime syndicate is manipulating governments all around the world behind the scenes, and outright controlling many countries. It uses slave labor, orchestrates wars among third world countries, and as an economic unit rivals most European countries in size. The Boondock Saints are after it for obvious reasons, El Mariachi is hired to kill as many syndicate members as possible, The Bride, having finished her revenge realizes that the leader of the syndicate used to provide Bill with generous support and is furious, Tyler Durden is angry because mob soldiers have been taking control of the bars where many of his Fight Clubs were located, Gabriel Shear goes after the syndicate because it has funded various terrorist groups that have carried out attacks on America, and Jules Winnfield, having retired from his life as a hitman, is finally put in his place by God, and that place happens to be laying down the vengeance of the Lord on those who seek to poison and destroy his brothers. The members of the League forget their differences and decide to bring down the syndicate.

My movie LXG:

Keyser Soze has uncovered the tomb of Tzekel Qa'an in Turkey. Therein he found the Orb of The Prophet Rashid, and with it, the power he needs to rule the world. Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones, Jr. has been searching for this Orb for the past fifteen years, and now that it's been found, he won't rest until it's in a museum, where it belongs. The only problem is that it's 2004, and Indy is in his nineties. The United States government places Dr. Jones at the head of the team devoted to taking Soze down. He will need to recruit a league of extraordinary gentlemen to accomplish this extraordinary task.
Dr. Jones first heads to The United Kingdom, where he knows MI6 is already on the Soze case...

1) James Bond - Agent 007 has been delegated to help Dr. Jones' group by MI6. The British government will be fielding its own team as well, but 007 will not be on it, much to his protestations. He is being disciplined for giving away a state secret to a buxom eastern European blonde two months ago, so he gets to help the Yanks.
Dr. Jones will be relying on Bond's organizational, leadership, and infiltration skills, as well as his extensive combat knowledge and material resources.

Dr. Jones next heads to Mexico, where a certain musician has recently played a role in a political uprising that raised some heads...

2) El Mariachi - The man known only as El Mariachi is found by Dr. Jones wandering the Mexican countryside. After some persuasion, El Mariachi decides to help save the world; after all, he has nothing left to lose.
Indy will be helped by El Mariachi's astounding skill with firearms, quick thinking, and uncanny ability to survive anything.

Dr. Jones heads to New York City, where he will be able to find several more names to put on his roster. First, he pays a visit to the residence of David Dunn...

3) David Dunn, the Unbreakable Man - Though he doesn't feel he will be able to lend much help against Pure, Unadulterated Evil in the company of heroes, the modest David Dunn agrees to throw in with the League (at his son's urging, mostly).
The 6' bulletproof strongman known as Unbreakable is something of a local vigilante, but now he will test his mettle on a global stage. His physical prowess will undoubtedly prove invaluable on numerous occasions, as will his mysterious psychic abilities.

Much to the consternation of his US government benefactors, Dr. Jones next looks into some of his less legal contacts, which lead him to...

4) Matilda the Professional - Professional hitman extraordinaire. Her love of adventure and unshakeable (if somewhat twisted) sense of morality leads her to join forces with the legendary Dr. Jones.
Matilda brings a wide range of assassination-related skills to the table, and many creative ways of employing them.

Delving even further into New York City's underworld, Dr. Jones meets a certain Daywalker...

5) Eric "Blade" Brooks - The Daywalker agrees to join the League because the Vampire Nation has joined forces with Keyser Soze. Also, the United States government promises Blade a cure for his vampirism if he succeeds.
Blade brings superhuman martial arts abilities to Dr. Jones' force. Additionally, he is unlikely to be caught off-guard by any supernatural calamaties that befall the League, and with the Vampires siding with Soze, there are sure to be many.

Indiana then heads west to pick up the last pieces of the puzzle. In the desert outside Los Angeles, he confronts the most caustic member of this already caustic array...

6) Sarah Connor - [T3 does not exist in this universe] Sarah Connor at first refuses to join Dr. Jones, but eventually comes to realize that if the world was worth saving twice, it was worth saving a third time.
Sarah Connor is not only strong and good with a gun, but she is fiercely determined to do whatever it takes to ensure the survival of the human race, undeserving though it may be.

Heading north to Oregon, Dr. Jones seeks the final member, one whom he assures the others is one of the most dangerous men on Earth...

7) Richard "Data" Wang - Data, son of Indy's old accomplice Short Round, may not be the most intimidating physical specimen around, but he could turn a paperclip and a rollerskate into a hydrostatic pneumo-pressurizer in twelve minutes. Data jumps at the chance to work alongside "Doctah Jones," though as the adventure grows more and more dangerous, he begins to doubt himself.

Those are the players. Advice may be gotten along the way from Hannibal Lecter, as he's needed to psycho-analyze Soze's twisted mind.
A love story can be found for El Mariachi and Matilda, both of whom have sworn to themselves that they'd never love again...

Tv League

An Alien force decides to ride the universe of 'those pesky humans' by annihilating them at the source before they can truely be a menace to him. He opperates in secret and tries to make it appear that humans have been out-evolved by other organisms of its creation.

Traveling through time and space to warn earth of this comes The Doctor. When he arrives, the United Nations decides to revive the League of Extrodinary Gentelmen...with the Doctor leading it.

1) The Time Lord Our very favorite Doctor arrives with his inteligence, his eccentricisms, his Tardis and possibly K-9. He hopes to lead the team against this force, and is tickled by the idea of working with so many interesting individuals.

2) The Slayer Faith is brought in with the promise of getting a full pardon for her past crimes. She brings her close combat expertise and slayer abilities.

3) The Hunter A man who has dealt with one of the deadliest cretures on earth and come out on top many times, Burt Gummer is convinced to join this UN orginization after much convincing and a lot of offers. He brings his survival skills and firearms knowledge.

4) The Invisible Man Darien Fawkes already works for the Government, and is thus transfered from his current assignment to the League. His skills as a burglar are only enhanced by his invisibility. He also has a score to settle since the Alien force has already been opperating on earth, known to Darien as "Chrysalis"

5) the Alien The youngest member of the League is brought by the Doctor himself: a young Allie Keys. One of the products of the alien menace's genetic engeniering. Her incredible mental abilities make her the most powerful member on the team.

6) the Spy CIA agent Sidney Bristow is brought in as the UN Liason and to try and keep the team working together. Though she has no powers, her incredible skills, genetic background, and own experience with the genetic engerneering of the Alien Force (the Rambaldi Texts) make her a valuable asset.

Other Series known to be brought in:
Stargate SG-1
Dark Angel
a Myriad of Monsters from Film and other sources (can't think of many good TV monsters that fit the bill as 'Genetic Horrors')
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

A crack team must be assembled to stop them.

The Team:

Solid Snake - Infiltration and combat experience as well as all round tough guy. Has experience dealing with both Ocelot and MG's.

Max Payne - Detective and gun fighter extrordinare. Recruited into the team to get revenge on who caused so much destruction in New York after the events of MGS2.
