And now, for something completely different: Pony music!
Have you heard For the New Lunar Republic by I Am Not A Clever Pony? Of course you have! And if you haven't, for shame. Because this is The Song That Launched A Thousand Remixes. Quite possibly literally.
Anyway, I post up one of my favorite remixes (but by no means only; there are so many good ones out there, especially Makkon's and BagpipeBrony's) of the song:
Latin vocals FTW!
Also, I'll link Applejack The Engineer's remix (you remember that near 20 minute orchestral symphony of MLP songs? Same artist!) of the song, because it was made as a tribute to NACP as he left the music scene, sadly.
In Memory Of (For The New Lunar Republic) - it is damn awesome, a solemn take on a classic piece of ponymusic, while still giving a core of strength in the middle before closing out on a somber note.
Also from AJ The Engineer, I give you Ovation of the Night which is a wonderfully dark and brooding theme for Nightmare Moon.
This is, of course, an extremely small taste of all the awesome MLP fanmusic out there on YouTube, so definately go take a look!
And please, please, please for the Love of Celestia, don't embed a shitton of YouTube videos up in here! You'll notice I included only one in my post, right? Yeah. I'm all for sharing the awesome fan music and remixes out there, but a bunch of YouTube embeds would make Fluttershy cry:
And you wouldn't want that, now would you?
"How can I wait unknowing?
This is the price of war,
We rise with noble intentions,
And we risk all that is pure..." - Angela & Jeff van Dyck, Forever (Rome: Total War)
"On and on, through the years,
The war continues on..." - Angela & Jeff van Dyck, We Are All One (Medieval 2: Total War)
"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." - Ambrose Redmoon
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." - Harvey Dent, The Dark Knight
This may be adorable, but if I lived in Ponyville, I would be absolutely terrified right now. Especially because this was made by Equastria Innovations.

I think even more impressive than just the sheer volume of music in the fandom is the level of collaboration and remixing. Some examples:

This is pre-WWII. You can sort of tell from the sketch style, from thee way it refers to Japan (Japan in the 1950s was still rebuilding from WWII), the spelling of Tokyo, lots of details. Nothing obvious... except that the upper right hand corner of the page reads "November 1931." --- Simon_Jester

This is officially my head-canon for why there's been such a long break in episodes.
