Finnish meet, round two: anyone interested?

Long ago, in a land far, far away... We had a little Finnish meet. It has been over three years now and I got the bright idea that maybe we could arrange a new one? It's not summer, granted, but sometimes meets don't need Finnish midsummer night or sun.

So, would anyone be interested?

Maybe. I have exams on the 2. and 16. of november so the weekends preceding those are out of the question. Otherwise my schedule is fairly light for november and december, so at least on a weekend I should be able to attend.

So far December seems to be overwhelmingly supported and 12th of December has been suggested. Is it OK by everyone, or maybe we can look at the precise date later?

I'm all open for suggestions about what we could do during the meet. This time I don't recommend hanging around near the Central Railway Station's park, though. Might get too cold/snowy/wet.

I assume we'll meet somewhere in Helsinki? If so I think it would be best to meet up in central railwaystation and continue from there.

Central Railwaystation sounds good to me. I have to admit that I don't know many good restaurants or places to eat (besides Sörnäinen's Sivuraide), so I'm all open to suggestions.

2 pm sounds good. Depending on what kind of food you prefer, there are several good places to pick from around the center. Mount Everest if you like Nepalese, then there is Maya and several others.

sure the central railway station seem ok, though I'd suggest we'd agree on a more exact location before the day as the station is rather large and busy so it might take a while to find each other if it's just "at the station".

Considering the probable weather at the time, I suggest that we meet inside. Maybe under the train schedule screen? Or at the Compass?

OK. Funny - I am, of course, aware of the recent disaster, but I still sometimes forget how much it affects the Central Railwaystation.

I support the train schedules as the meeting place.

well that might be a good idea though it probably is wise to do via e-mail and/or PM to avoid prank calls and 14:00 at the scheduels sounds ok for me, so I'll be there unless something special happens.

I'm forced to cancel. My finances don't allow me to travel to Helsinki next weekend. Would it be possible to move the meet to 19th?

No worries! I also had other errands to run here this weekend (visiting my parents and seeing old friends), so if you guys wish to postpone the meet next week or some other date I'm fine. What do Edi and Revan say?
