That said, Fucking A. Cutler to the Bears and they picked up Orlando Pace, who can still pass block with the best of them. Them coupled with Hester deep, Forte, that defense and god damned Chicago, you may just have yourself a legitimate playoff team.

Now though, what do the Broncos do? Stick with Orton and see if he and they get better? Or do they use the 18 overall and get a new QB? I don't even think a top flight QB will drop that far as I doubt Sanchez will get past the Niners at 10.

The Donkeys have enough offensive talent to score, no matter who plays QB for them. Now they have two more 1st-round picks plus an extra 3rd-rounder to do something about their sucky defense. On top of that, they got rid of Jeff George MkII, which really pisses me off.

Then why isn't the NFL banning all hits to the knees? Either hits to the knees are unnecessary injury risks that should be disallowed against any player, or quarterbacks should have to deal with hits to the knees like everyone else. This quarterback coddling is bullshit, and it's even worse because you and I know damn well know that if it had been, say, Joe Flacco or Kyle Boller knocked out for the season, the NFL wouldn't have given a shit. Tom Brady wanking from the league and the media is bad enough without the league making special rules just for him.

More league bullshit: Apparently, east coast teams find it too grueling to play consecutive games on the west coast, so the NFL made a rule against scheduling back-to-back west coast games for east coast teams. However, west coast teams can still be scheduled for back-to-back east coast games. Sometimes I wonder why they don't just go ahead and fix the games like pro wrestling.

However, west coast teams can still be scheduled for back-to-back east coast games. Sometimes I wonder why they don't just go ahead and fix the games like pro wrestling.

That's complete and utter bull shit. What is so hard about traveling west and having to play a game? At worst they are playing it a little later relative to when they would play out east. The west cost teams have to deal with the travel and the likelihood that they have to play hours earlier than they would if they were at home.

Palmer and the Bengals really got boned on what could have been a Super Bowl run with that hit. The Patriots did just fine without Brady. With this new rule I'm going to have to root even more for hard crushing hits to quarterbacks. Maybe watch some old Dick Butkis clips.

The league still hasn't changed the rules about blocking to protect the knees of linemen has it? Maybe now that they have a new coach the Broncos won't block primarily by threatening the knees of the opposing line.

That's a valid perspective. Smith doesn't seem to have infinite goodwill in the public eye, though, at least from where I sit (it's of course a pretty difficult thing to gauge). I am rooting for the chaos behind Door Number Two, of course.
