Some little guidelines for those who order the Soviet transport planes from me - lots of people did that recently, or want to. They are efficient, but look for what you need ;) the cargo hold parameters are here. I hope you could make out how many tons each can lift on your own ;) (I'll still write it up here, no worry ;)

Also, reading this will prevent you fucking up later and only transport AFVs of certain size, in certain planes ;) the ones not too small for them.

Turboprops:
An-12
Image
Aerial parachute assault possible.

Price tag: $ 300K
Lift mass: 20 tons OK, 30 tons maximal.

An-22(A)
Image
*very large cargo hold, comes also in Gunship Variant; Gunship test run now being readied for Byzantium, other bidders welcome - a 100-mm autocannon + two 6-barrel 30mm GSH-6-30 autocannons. Total overkill if you want to kill some Libertopians.

Aerial parachute assault possible.

Price tag: $40 million (bare cargo) to $70 million (mega gunship: the An-22P, where "P" stands for "Pizdets")
Lift mass: 40 tons OK, 80 tons max.

An-26/An-32
Image

Aerial parachute assault possible.

Price tag: $2 million (An-26), $4 million (An-32)
Lift mass: 4 tons OK, 5,5 tons max.

Jets:

An-72 - ideal for bogs, mires and exploration of the North/cold South, due to the engines placed above the gondola:
Image

Price tag: $12,5 million.
Lift mass, max: 5 tons for 2500 km, 10 tons for 1000 km

Il-76MF
Image
Aerial parachute assault possible.

Price tag: $50 million (can range from $30 million to $70 million depending on friendliness, outfitting and other circumstances)
Lift mass: 50 tons OK, 60 tons max.

An-124-100
Image
Aerial parachute assault possible. Could launch up to 560 parachutists.

Price tag: $100 million
Lift mass, max: 120 tons.

Modified to An-124-100M-150 - lift mass 150tons, tag: $150 million

An-225
Image
Aerial launches of mechanized equipment not possible (I guess you could use it for launching humans though); can transport up to 5 tanks in the cargo hold, or around 1,000 men. A passenger hold above the cargo hold can carry 80 people (in addition to the cargo hold).

Price tag: $200 million
Lift mass, max: 250 tons

Stas Bush wrote:About Liberia.

It's Somalia, only a little bigger. It does not have a government that we know of (else we'd probably go to war with it a long time ago), but it's a bunch of warlords running around in Toyotas fitted with missiles and anti-air machine guns, not much else.

As such, it's hard to say "Libertia" has a military parade, or forces, or anything, only various warlords in there do.
I am all for this. Really it gives us much more storytelling possibilities to leave it as this, rather than nuking it or something. It allows stuff like the PeZookia Hostage Crisis to unfold as it did, rather than forcing them to set down in another Player's country or something. Which means it would be largely up to that Player how to proceed, not the one who started it. Libertia gives something of an "out" for this.

Also, as for players dropping out of the game, I'd say anything about Principlality-size or smaller might be given over to an alliance to run, either as some kind of international site (had we known about Zablorg dropping out earlier that could have been Atlantis) or something of that nature. For Kingdom-level or above I'd say it descends into anarchy and becomes Libertia II. If anybody wants to try and annex it they could, but it would be a massive economic, military, and resource drain to do so. And simply nuking it into submission would obviously generate some international strife.

I'm just doing this so as not to overly inflate some other Player's power. I suppose there could be some guidelines on what someone taking temporary stewardship of a nation could or couldn't do (vacations and the like) but I'd rather those be worked out by the parties involved myself.

Still, this international terrorism storyline is pretty cool. I will get in on it to, in the future!

I'm not saying anyone who goes inactive. Sea Skimmer shows up only rarely and his country hasn't descended. I think we can just assume that anyone who goes away for awhile is simply playing isolationist.

What I'm talking about is people who specifically come out and say, "I'm out of the game" like Surlethe and Tithonus Syndrome did.

And Zablorg too...kind of.

Actually, since Surlethe has neither a map or Reference Thread entry, we could probably just say he never even existed in the first place. Did he even have any real impact on events out there? I think he brought up that one Science Alliance but Crossroadia was the only real active player in that one and he went to the OMSK. So he'd (Surlethe) be easy enough to retcon out.

Ah, sorry. Must've missed it.

I'm posting in a partisan manner from work :D

Unfortunately, we don't have the capacity to do it this fiscal year. However, an ISCA vote is underway to admit Canissia, and if they get in,you will have your ships by the end of FY2009.

I will keep you updated.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the rum we sent.

EDIT: I forgot to ask, How many 20ft containers can the bulk carriers transport and how many barrels of oil can the tankers carry? This might influence my decision to place a second order next year. Thanks

ISCA: It's always good to have more members. I say, let Canissia in.

The King doesn't drink alcohol, but thank you anyway :D

As for capacity...well, the FCS has a deadweight tonnage capacity of 20 thousand metric tonnes. A rough calculation shows about 150 thousand barrels of crude. As for the number of containers, it wholly depends on what is inside them. Up to 20 thousand tonnes of cargo, as I wrote above.

EDIT: Baerne's vote has been noted and entered into the ISCA spreadsheets.

I think it would be a good idea to include the agreed-upon rules that Mr. Bean cooked up in the SDN World reference sticky. Maybe include it in the first post where Zor's original RAR is quoted.

If Mr. Bean could do the honors as a big-time forum dude? [bambi eyes]
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
