In case you were not aware of the circumstances, a member of this board, Stofsk, has been arrested. A concise summary of the events follows:
Since we do not yet have a donation link set up here, please visit http://www.libriumarcana.com if you want to donate to his legal defense fund.B4UTRUST wrote:Christopher Szitovsky, aka Stofsk, a moderator of Librium Arcana was
arrested Thursday, October 27th, 2005 in Australia under charges of
murdering his father on the 1st of July of last year(2004). This
information was brought to our attention by his own brother, Simon just
a few short days ago.
Due to the nature of Australian law and complete lack of individiual
liberties and rights reflected by their origins as a penal colony, Chris
was arrested as a suspect after the apparent lack of police evidence to
charge another suspected individual.
Man Charged with Father's Axe Murder wrote:
Christopher Leslie Szitovsky, 22, of Wheelers Hill was charged by
homicide squad detectives today with killing his father Peter, 58, whose
body was found outside their Xavier Street home on July 1 last year.
Mr Szitovsky died after suffering severe neck wounds. Neighbours told
police they heard the noises of a loud argument with raised voices and
swearing between three o'clock and four o'clock in the morning. At the
time his son told police that he had slept through the night before
waking about 6am to find his father outside their home with an axe still
embedded in his neck.
Szitovsky appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court earlier this
afternoon flanked by two security guards in the dock.He wore a striped
jumper and blue t-shirt and glasses and remained silent during the brief
hearing.
Szitovsky made no application for bail and was remanded in custody to
appear in court again in February.
Chris's brother, Simon, has assured us through email contact that Chris
is as well as can be expected considering the circumstances, just rather
bored.
According to reports, the police have failed to produce any evidence
linking Chris to the crime, even during the arraignment which was held
that same day. Police will apparently not be producing the evidence they
have until some time in December and Chris will not be tried until
February of next year.
Since it appears that Australian law can obviously not be trusted with
justice we have decided to set up a legal defense fund so that the
family may hopefully hire some professional legal aid to expediate the
process of regaining Chris his freedom, or what ammounts to it in
Australia.
Thank you.
