I would say that if porn is the only exposure that a kid has to sex than he/she may have a warped view about it, and the roles of men and women in sex.
I think I'm experiencing amnesia and deja vu at the same time, I seem to remember forgetting this before.

I first started looking up porn when I was 13. It kind of screwed me up then, because it wasn't just a sexual lust thing; it was my subversive activity against my highly conservative mother.

Unfortunately, she found out, cut off the internet for about 2 months, then we got it back. I decided to look at it again. Unfortunately, while I deleted the history this time, I didn't delete the temporary internet files, and my mother has a fellow religioius friend who advises her on this stuff. So I was caught again. I've glanced at porn, but It doesn't have any adverse effect on me. Besides, I use outside stuff anyway, like magazines, movies, etc.

I saw porn at around age 8 with bad reception. My bro was fiddling around with some switches connected to the television and it just came up moaning and groaning.
I believe I truly started looking at porn when I was 11 and been jerking off to it since puberty. :)

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I'm suddenly reminded of some article I read somewhere. The writer was talking about how when he was a child, his parents were very careful to shelter him from all "evil" influences such as porno and anything to do with sex. Unfortunately for their grand plans, he had a subscription to National Geographic and his parents never thought to go through them and cut out the pictures of the naked native women or animals and their mating habits. It made him wonder. If seeing pictures of naked people or reading about sex was that horrible a thing, wouldn't all those kids reading the National Geographics every month be criminals terrorizing the populace?

My totally useless comment of the moment.

I've seen this often used as an excuse by parents to shelter their children from any knowledge, leaving them painfully unprepared for the real world.

I didn't start watching porn until like in the middle of middle school. And it's been sporadically since. I am pretty normal and I'll say that's because of my parents and environment, not because I didn't watch that much pr0n.
