Not really, he knows of it, only he doesn't make it a habit of watching it actively.

Teal'c must have made him watch it a couple of times at least.

Or he watched it when he was younger. It is one of those movies that people see, despite its genre.

Heh, found another cool one today in 'A Matter of Time'

Sam: "Sir, for some reason, the warping of our space-time seems to be in advance of the gravitational field rather than as a result of it. It's probably a lensing effect generated by the Stargate itself, but I can't be sure. "

*Jack slowly nods as if in complete understanding, Col Cronwell catches him*

Cromwell: "Don't even *PRETEND* you understood that."

Sorry, I'm just not the sort of person who can memorize quotes from TV that good. (but I am, for some reason, very good at memorizing quotes from Bradbury and Lovecraft)

I've only just seen Unnatural Selection:

O'NEILL: They didn't go for it.
CARTER: They didn't approve the mission?
O'NEILL: Oh no, they did that. Once they knew the stakes and the fate of the universe stuff. Both the President and Hammond realised we had no choice. He sends good luck, godspeed and all those things he says when he thinks we're gonna die.
CARTER: So what didn't they go for?
O'NEILL: The name I suggested.
CARTER: For the ship?
O'NEILL: Yeah.
CARTER: Yeah Sir, we can't call it the Enterprise.
O'NEILL: Why not?
CARTER: The codename for the project is Prometheus. What's wrong with that?
O'NEILL: It's a Greek tragedy. Who wants that?
CARTER: Okay. The X303 it is then.

Cassie: Jack calls them "Horses"
*cassie levetates the knight, and talsk some more, cut to briefing room*
Hammond: How does she do that?
Jack: Magnets.
*everyone stares*
Jack: No, seriously, there is a little magent on the bottom to keep them from sliding around.
*everyone stares*
Jack: and they do really look like horses.

Perhaps he was just being sarcastic about SciFi?

I know several people who enjoy Star Trek quite a bit (at least TOS) but wouldn't have the first clue on where to start with technobably talk.

Bre'tac: "This single blade did what we could not. It has brought us together. This blade has spilled the blood of Jaffa, of the Tok'ra, and of the Tau'ri, by the hand of our common enemy. It has made us brothers. Together we have ensured it will never spill our blood again."

Its too bad preaty much all the Jaffa and Tok'Ra forgot that speach.
And it was a good speach!

Oh, got another quote. From 'Fail Safe'

Asgard: The treaty *does* allow for the arbitration of such disputes. We
would need to assemble a commission of inquiry consisting of equal
numbers of Asgard and Goa'uld representatives. We would also need
corroborating testimony from the Tollans.
Jack: Now see, that's gonna be a problem...seeing as they've been
wiped out by the Goa'uld.
Asgard: That is unfortunate.
Jack: And Earth gets hit by that rock and we're all wiped
out *that's* gonna be unfortunate too?
Asgard: Very.

*Jacks eyes narrow*

*Cut through wormhole to SGC Breifing Room*

Embarised Jack: And after that I...kind of lost my temper.
Hammonds Eyes Narrow: What exactly does *that* mean?
Daniel *Soto Voice*: Let's just say Jack made a reference to Freyr's
mother....

Not really, he knows of it, only he doesn't make it a habit of watching it actively.
Most of his quotes have been about Star Trek, which isn't that surprising -- my father's also a military guy with no interest in sci-fi in general but he still watched some Trek episodes (TOS and TNG anyway) and made joking references to the series. Hell, they nicknamed the tactical shooting simulator at work "the holodeck" as soon as they saw it and no one had to have the reference explained to them.

He made Luke Skywalker jokes before Teal'c convinced him to watch the movie (which Jack said he hadn't seen before), but that's not surprising either. Both ST and SW have penetrated society to the point of ubiquity -- even people who've seen little or none of the works in question are still familiar with the pop-culture references.
