I have gmail and lately I've noticed a noticeable increase of spam, and it's all in german. It's not even advertising anything, and a lot of it talks about the Dresden bombing in 1945. A friend of mine and some people on other forums I visit said that this is happening to them too.

Is anyone else getting emails like this? It's getting pretty fucking annoying.

I haven't ever received any spam in my gmail account, which I've had since september.

Weird thing is, I hardly ever get it either. The minute amount I do get is filtered automagically.

I have had no spam with g-mail.

Gmail and spam? The concept is alien to me, thank goodness.

I got a bunch of it yesterday morning but nothing today. Like you said it was in German and kind of like the stuff one would read in usenet. And yes at least one of the e-mails was about Dresden 1945. Interestingly I do have a gmail account but I've never used it since I activated it. And the e-mail address which I got the spam is my office one which I hardly if ever use on the net since I deal with classified material at work.

A good deal of them do, but not all of them.

I've got a user getting them. Not in gmail. Nothing is flagged as spam by our spam filters.

It´s Nazi spam. The Nazis here just did a huge worldwide spam.

Be careful "Der Spiegel" reported that they use a variant of the Sober worm to spread their crap.

The computers at my school got them. I heard teachers all throughout the day complaining about strange German spam emails. My dad's FPL (Florida Power & Light) office got a lot of them too. Weird.

No spam whatsoever, nein.

Wait, I've been receiving German spam as well, but:
1. Instead of flooding the gmail account, they flood the email account I used to receive the gmail invitation.
2. I didn't read 'em to carefully, but IIRC instead of Dresden bombing, they're talking about communism and such.

One of my friends was getting Spam^2 in his gmail account.

What is Spam^2, you ask? It's spam offering to sell you 500 tins of Spam. I'm not kidding, this shit is real.
