Weighing in at 3000 bricks, measring a stunning one meter in length and costing $269...it's the new Lego kit, the Imperial Star Destroyer!

http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news ... 20923.html

It comes with a miniature version of the Tantive IV, which is exclusive to this kit, however, will be the first in a line they plan on making. Hey, that reminds me. When I was a kid, i would make small Lego Enterprises. Now I can have them getting blasted apart! What a concept.

I might buy it.
But only after I'm finished with the U-47. (non-lego).

In the early 80's, my friend and I would build starships from scratch with legos. My, but we've come a long way!

This is a great value. You are really getting two Star Destroyers for the price of one. You are getting the ISD 1 and the ISD 2. How so? Well, just remove the extra part of the bridge and there you go. Both ISDs. :P

That's a good point. Too bad I can't afford to have more than one of those things. Although I like my electronic fleet Star Destroyer a little more. It's just not as big.

It's actually almost certainly too small. Lego figures are bigger than Micro Machines, but they are not so much bigger as to account for the sheer scale of the ISD, which is about a mile in length.

Whoa! That is big! But, I don't think I'll be getting it anytime soon. The Tantive IV has better pieces, and costs less.

How big would a minifig-scale ISD be? Given 3 studs to a meter, that would give us about 4800 studs! Assuming 2 feet equals 100 studs, that gives us a length of about 96 feet! It would cost thousands, and would be hard to stay stable!

11 meters long?

11 meters would rock, but damn, I also remember dropping my Lego creations. !!! In fact one of them still sits on a shelf because I was afraid to watch it crumble. LoL. the White bricks are yellow now. LOL.

Just another note, shouldn't they use White instead of grey? My Electronic ISD is grey too.

It's a symbol of how many people SW has inspired when a lego set of THAT size comes out. DAMN that's huge!

True. Not to mention they would have to make custome pieces so that it would work out right. I think it looks a little squat from behind but other than that seems to work alright.

Sweet! I wouldn't mind owning one but that price is pretty steep.
